What is your nation's origin?
When talking about your fictional nation here on Nationstates in RP what real world country does your country represent or is inspired of (if it is)? And the political choices you do, do you follow some other real world country, some political party you're supporting, your own views or just choose it for the RP?

Re: What is your nation's origin?
New Tarajan does not have a "real" inspiration.
Basically, it is the modern transposition of the imaginary evolution of a country I designed for a D&D campaign.
That country was a persian-based fantasy world; so, for its evolution, I tried to give an answer to a (crazy) question: what would have happened if the Cruasader States had survived? (I'm a great passionate of medieval history).
Particularly, these imaginary crusaders were inspired by the Dutch. So, New Tarajan has become a sort of fusion between Persian-Central Asian culture and Dutch culture.

Re: What is your nation's origin?
The United States of Europe are the latest evolution of the European Union, in which member states have joined together to form a single great nation.
Moreover, this nation has expanded, reaching also include Norway, Islande, Switzerland, Greenland, countries of the former Yugoslavia, East Europe countries (Ukraine, Belarus etc..) and Russia.
This country shares the same ideals of the old European Union.
It also includes a socialist ideology (political parties now in government are socialists).
The state apparatus is a mix of organs and bodies of the European Union and Italian organs and bodies (because I, in real life, I'm Italian).

Re: What is your nation's origin?
Yellasia's culture and history is mostly a mix of European cultures and its own distinct history (that my friend and I made up; it's not really comparable to a real country), with some influences from Latin America and indigenous nations in North America.
Yellasia and my puppets have some influences that are more specific to them though:
Yellasia is mostly inspired by Britain, Sweden, France and Spain, as well as those 'distinct traits' I mentioned earlier.
The Low Republic is inspired by America, Russia, and the Persian Gulf states.
Coreelia is based on a combinations of America and various Polynesian nations.
Huskdor is mostly inspired by Iceland.
And the New Yellasian Space Colonies I made just for role-playing purposes, but some aspects of it are inspired by Singapore, China, and Europe again.

Re: What is your nation's origin?
Mine is sort of a combination of the various Slavic nations (Russia, Poland, the Former Yugoslavia, etc...) with elements borrowed from Celtic cultures (language primarily) and a somewhat fictional aspect in the history. The name comes from the Serbo-Croat word Novo (new) and the nickname for Canadians. (Canucks; Canada being my home in real life) I intend to rewrite my history factbook in the near future to better mirror some of the more interesting histories of the inspiration for Novo Canuckia. Presently the history is based off of a storyline I came up with for a series of Stronghold maps I never got around to finishing.
So yeah, in short basically a combination of just about anything that interests me.
Edit: I base my decisions as closely as can to what I would do, although when this isn't possible (due to the limited options for a given decision) I sort of try to do as my nation's leader would were they a real person. (based off of the personality I invent for them)

Antanares is a sort of evolution of the Russia. It's a Federation, it's not a democracy and not an authoritarianism and work fine XD

Re: What is your nation's origin?
New Paristan's history can best be described as "what if the United States were a colony of France instead of England, and the American revolution happened at the same time as the French revolution." Thus, New Paristan is kind of an independent former French colony.
I've also been careful to plot out the history of New Paristan in Marxian terms - a bourgeois revolution creates a merchant class, an industrial revolution creates a proletarian class, class struggle leads to a worker revolution. However, the model of New Paristan's worker revolution is also influenced by anarcho-syndicalism and autonomism. Both theories state that it is the workers themselves, not guided by any kind of intellectual elite or political vanguard, who will lead the revolution through the creation of mass organizations, strike actions, sabotage, and finally shutting down the capitalist economy and taking over power. Thus, New Paristan's political structure is highly decentralized, ruled by local and regional workers' councils, without any traditional parliament or political parties. However, it is important to note another deviation from the Marxian norm: New Paristan is still ostensibly a market economy. Our worker cooperatives compete with each other and strive for maximum profit, thus creating a highly dynamic and participatory economy. We're also fiercely anti-nationalist, because we strive for worldwide revolution and see ourselves as part of the global community of workers.
A few of our catchphrases:
"No bosses, no leaders, no nations, just solidarity!"
"An injury to one is an injury to all!"
"Recognition, consciousness, revolution."
"We've lost our chains - now it's your turn."

Re: What is your nation's origin?
Lol yeah haha I'm kidding.
Ages ago, a large empire controlled much of the western continents, and Haloina was a province of the empire located on the northwest peninsula of the northcentral continent. Over the ages, Haloina gained independence and became known as Aloia. Eventually, environmental conditions in the Aloian peninsula became so bad they had to relocate. They moved to the southwestern continent, known as Mnemosyne, to the territory of the nation of Genolia to form the Imperial Union of Aloia and Genolia with a common monarchy and legislature but individual national identities.
Genolia was also a province of the large empire and was known as Thalia. Over the ages that kingdom thrived under the Genoli royal family and the nation's name was changed in honor of the family. A horrible plane crash took the lives of the entire Genoli family and so Genolia chose the Aloian royal family as their own new royals to give the Aloians a new place to live.
The relationship between the nations has benefited Aloia by providing a new, expansive nation to live in and benefited Genolia by bringing their views and opinions to the world stage through Aloia's military and position in the international community.
