(Dismissed) WA Slavery & Slave Rights Act
WA SLAVERY AND SLAVE RIGHTS ACT
By Xolox
Co-authored by Soviet Russia
Introduction
The World Alliance Security Council recognizes that, while slavery seems detestable and uncharacteristic of a civilized nation, it is the backbone of some financially or technologically challenged nations. Slavery, in some cases, can be essential to a nation's culture or traditions. It can even be called for by religion. The Security Council, understanding that it would be bigoted to do otherwise, grants all nations the revocable right to possess slaves.
Slave Rights
The right of a nation to utilize slavery will be revoked if the following conditions are not met: • A safe, standardized set of work hours for the slaves, scaled to the area of work.
• Each slave must be fed and sheltered in a humane way.
• There will be no cruel and unusual punishments.
• The deliberate murder of a slave must be punished as such.
• Sick or injured slaves must receive proper medical treatment.
Slavery Inspection Agency
To ensure that the aforementioned conditions are met, the Slavery Inspection Agency will be established. A branch must be established in every slave-owning country, headed by an unbiased official chosen by the Security Council. The SIA will be responsible for inspecting sights where slaves reside and work and reporting any discrepancies with the listed slave rights. Any country violating those rights will immediately lose their right to slavery and will not regain it until a time the Security Council deems fit.
Re: (Dismissed) WA Slavery & Slave Rights Act
While New Rhodinia agrees that a just outlook on slavery is required, we highly encourage that nations employing slavery actively find alternate ways to support dwindling areas of a nation overall. As long as slaves do not suffer or feel objectified by any kind of abuse, for the time being, New Rhodinia is in favor.

The Republic of Scottlands is against slavery so we are against this law that promotes and legalizes human trafficking. I wonder what kind of thinking these countries are making they are supporting this inhumane kind of law.

Your response makes me think you stopped at the title. Slavery is probably going to happen in some form or another, regardless of whether or not this law is passed. This law guarantees that slaves receive the best treatment possible in their situation.

Although I am not in the WASC, I would like to voice that I am AGAINST slavery and feel that every human is created equally and is entitled to basic rights, even when incarcerated
Re: (Dismissed) WA Slavery & Slave Rights Act
I have one question first, are slaves aloud to be used as test subjects?

I believe, instead of trying to control and regulate slavery, the Security Council should try to abolish slavery in the World Alliance. Slaves, are not objects or pets, they are in fact, humans who should be able to own their own lives and not be subjugated by other humans. A goal for us as part of the SC should be to allow everyone to have a chance to prosper. We should not tolerate slavery in the WA at all and instead of proposing an act to allow any form of slavery, to propose an act to abolish slavery.

I understand your concern, but I think that there isn't really a way to abolish slavery. Countries that wish to have an unpaid workforce could easily do so under some other pretense than slavery. The passage of this act would establish an institution that would recognize that those unpaid workers are slaves and make sure they are granted the basic rights that they deserve.

Re: (Dismissed) WA Slavery & Slave Rights Act
Even though Apepistan is not a voting member of the Security Council, we are strongly against slavery.
We understand your point, that this proposal isn't encouraging slavery, but securing the living condition of slaves.
We also understand that there're going to be people treated as slaves, no matter if it's legal or not.
However, the WA members should rather work together to increase the living standards of these people while keeping them free. The United Kingdoms of Apepistan would rather give financial aid to these nations, where slavery is legal due to their bad economical situation, than give a green light to stripping people from their freedom.
Either that, or there should be restrictions on whom the state can make a slave. Free citizens because their bad financial situation? No. Prisoners, criminals, traitors, etc.? Yes.

The Eurussian Empire is against any form of human trafficking and human exploitation which involves slavery, regardless of its form and exercise. We also deplore the utilization of the Security Council to legalize international human exploitation and abuse in the guise of 'culture' which nonetheless doesn't change the nature of slavery. All states and nations should in fact protect its citizens and the peoples within its jurisdictions and it is deplorable that countries would legalize and even promote policies and laws that protects and tolerates human abuse and exploitation, in whatever way possible. Simply unethical and unacceptable.
Other than these grounds, the Eurussian Empire strongly rejects the nature of the proposal itself as it will infringe on the sovereignty of nations because the Security Council is imposing laws and policies that is a given right of every single sovereign state. Thus, if ever this inhumane, unethical, and abusive international law, the Eurussian Government will immediately challenge the legality of this resolution before the world judicial organ.
Nonetheless, Eurussia is and will remain against this proposal.

This answered half the question. They wouldn't die, but will they still be used as test subjects for various experiments?

Re: (Dismissed) WA Slavery & Slave Rights Act
Even if the Kingdom of Hungaria Nova is not a voting member of the Security Council, we can't be silent in a question like this.
The Royal Novan Government, like HSH Lord Kovács as well, loudly condemn this violation of human rights. Slavery is a state of right - much like "rightlessness" - that is totally unhumane. Life as a slave cannot be called a life at all.
Regarding this, we have to protest against slavery. To keep human beings as slaves is a crime what no nation should accept. We might consider that nations, who will decide to sign this act, should be banned of this organisation.

Re: (Dismissed) WA Slavery & Slave Rights Act
Seeing as no response has come of our previous question, New Rhodinia now moves to be against this act. No further explanation of slaves being used as test subjects was given, so the assumption has been made that they will. New Rhodinia has had it's share of testing and human experimentation and we wish to leave it behind in the past. Unless justification is given, we stand by our change.
