Re: (Former) Fifth Security Council
If we change the number of nations on the SC, we should increase it or not change it at all. We should allow more nations to be involved in the politics and governing of this region, not less. This is a political game, after all, so it makes sense to allow many people to be part of the political process.

Re: (Former) Fifth Security Council
@Aloia,
That is why instead of fixing the numbers, we are moving to determine the numbers via ratio depending on the population so as not to require another round of long process of constitutional amendment...

Re: (Former) Fifth Security Council
I would like to see 1:17, because it's a good size, and it's an odd number so no ties can be formed (not counting abstains).

Re: (Former) Fifth Security Council
I like HPS's idea, but how many WA members are there in the World Alliance? That might get out of hand. Perhaps another branch of government, a representative branch?

Re: (Former) Fifth Security Council
Maybe we could go for Vendoland's idea of determining the number of Council seats based on the number registered on the forums! I think if's fair since most actions on regional affairs are held in the Forums.
And I would say those registered are those willing to engage in regional affairs. What do you think?

Re: (Former) Fifth Security Council
Technically if we did that we would have 18 SC members... but considering many of those members are not with us anymore (We should probably delete their accounts), it would end up being around 10-12 SC members.
Re: (Former) Fifth Security Council
I would suggest ratio of 1:10 or above. So that when our population continuous to grow, we wouldn't be cramped by so many members in the SC that practically will delay passage of several proposals. Now that we have only 7 and it takes so long to get everybody on board, having huge membership in the SC is a concern.
COUNCIL APPOINTMENT
The President of the World Alliance and the Security Council has nominated Dromoda to the Security Council to replace the vacancy of Europe & Asia, and with the concurrence of the majority approval of the Security Council, Dromoda is now a member of the Security Council:
The current composition of the Security Council:
President: New Zealand
Members: Newasia, Novo Canuckia, Kulon bangsa, Marquette, Dromoda, Eurussia
