(Revised) Realistic Role Playing Act
The Realistic Role Playing Act
Authored by The Social Democracy of New-Zealand
Realizing that due to the use of NSTracker for all the World Alliance's RP needs, the statistics for nations have become both ludicrous and unbelievable.
Acknowledging that the tracker provides a fair and definite way of attaining nation statistics in a easy and readily available fashion. Thus the NSTracker is a crucial and invaluable asset in the WA's RP culture.
Recommending that we continue to use the NSTracker but divide all totals by 10 in order to provide a fair but reasonable RP statistic.
Finer Details :
P.S. If passed, these RP regulations will come into effect immediately and be compulsory from that point onwards.

The Social Democracy of New-Zealand votes IN FAVOUR of this bill.
Re: (Revised) Realistic Role Playing Act
Because our world is made up and larger than the real world ( probably ) we have other views of the world.
the World of the world alliance is big and has many nations with more than one billion inhabitants. and therefore lots of economy's who are going their own way. this means that your amount of money in your military budget does not represent how many people there could be in your army.
if a Nation has an army of 800 million its much. but compare that to the people in that country, lets say 3 billion , then it could be normal again.

Eurussia gets Dromoda's point and we are inclined to agree since we are just technically reducing the statistics on our own perspective realistic values. And at the end of the day, the nation with the biggest population remains the same and will still be in advantage.
Re: (Revised) Realistic Role Playing Act
We cant do anything about that. All we can do is make it realistic.
Then again, older nations will have an advantage (You dont see young nations like NZ having militaries more powerful than old ones like France,UK and USA). However, if you have a strong economy and a large military budget you can be more powerful than older nations. Its just the fact of life, no changing that

Re: (Revised) Realistic Role Playing Act
Do you think it would be better to separate real world and the game world? So we could bring closure to this matter?
Re: (Revised) Realistic Role Playing Act
Then we should simply leave things as it is. The bottom line is, the tracker is essential.
Re: (Revised) Realistic Role Playing Act
So you mean we should just forget this proposal and instead focus more on practicing better roleplay? Which I believe Albion & Longueville would help a lot! :-D

Are you saying that Albion and Longueville should get involved in RP?
Re: (Revised) Realistic Role Playing Act
That was meant to be a half truth joke. lol
But they should since they always speak as if they know the perfect things to do in roleplaying :-D

Lol, Thats what I thought. Its bad enough to have to deal with them on the rmb, let alone on the news network aswell XD, I doubt they even have a plan for how to manage a region wide RP system.
Re: (Revised) Realistic Role Playing Act
To be fair, both Albion and GL were heavily involved in the roleplay over in the Grand Union. I couldn't say precisely what their involvement was in creating that region's RP standards, but I feel confident in saying they are proficient in various kinds of RP. Whether or not their style of RP would be a good match for the World Alliance is another conversation entirely.
To keep this post on subject, I'll reiterate what I posted on the RMB yesterday. Though Dai Coon Ree has the largest military budget in the region, Browera has the largest military, despite being that much smaller/younger. As New Zealand pointed out, there's no guarantee that the largest nations will have the largest militaries

Re: (Revised) Realistic Role Playing Act
So Vendoland you mean that it will still be better to keep things the way they are?
With regards to AL & GL, that is precisely the problem. You may say that they are good in RP because they have done so in their previous region and that doesn't mean that we credit them for that because they never used such RP skills here so no one will have the confidence on what they're saying because they aren't showing it.
Still, my beliefs on them remains.

Ok but still, is it realistic that there would be a nation of 3 billion? No. Even China's military isn't that big, and they've got a billion people. Their "deployed personnel" is about 4 million, only one million larger than America's. That being said, I vote in favor of this bill. Also, you should add something in there about realistic populations. 3 billion should not be an accepted population.

Well, that's embarassing; I went to all that trouble posting and I forgot to post my thoughts on the subject at hand. That's what I get for trying to post before I've had my morning coffee. That said, bringing the figures down to more realistic levels is a great idea.

Re: (Revised) Realistic Role Playing Act
Also please don't abbreviate Albion to AL. AL is Aloia and we're very different from Albion. Albion can be like AB or something.

3 billion would be divided by ten, so it would become 300 million

Re: (Revised) Realistic Role Playing Act
It seems that this act has three votes in favor (New Zealand, HPS, and Aloia). Hopefully we'll hear from the other members of the Security Council before the end of the term.
Re: (Revised) Realistic Role Playing Act
it seems that people do not like fantasy and imagination. the problem is that this is an role play game that does not account for our world scale. the world of the world alliance is pretty big. however if you want to enforce this. the feeling of being a great nation reduces a lot and i am not very happy with that.
and i struggled a lot for my nation and i am proud that i almost reached 3 billion. please don't take that away.
