TOPEKA, Kansas == The Republic of Kansas Free State has opened its borders to the world for the first time since the collapse of its predecessor state, Greater Aurea. The people of Kansas, a largely agricultural nation with only a few metropolises, namely Kansas City, Topeka, Lawrence, and Wichita, have been working hard to build a shining, conservative utopia on the Olympian continent between Texanian and Marquetien colonies to the north and the Articmainian homeland to the south.

Governor Kathleen Sebelius said, "It's time to put Kansas on the map and show the world what we're made of. We need to put ourselves out there and make alliances and be a contributing nation to the world." Kansas is already known for its wheat and corn production, but now they hope to expand the manufacturing industry and other industries. Sebelius has suggested that Kansas hopes to ink trade deals with Articmainia, Eurussia, Texania, Marquette, and other regional and world powers.

(AP)  Jubilation in the streets of Myumbi today as voters ratified a treaty proposed by the government of Eurussia, that grants among other items: Peace between the two nations, a trade agreement, and the formation of a new "EU & Ranjiya ya Magani Council."  This action comes after mounting tensions in Ranji ya Magani over the proposed "Kyongdong device" a much opposed anti-matter weapon that has drawn vast international attention.

The government of New Tarajan, in a press conference held today at the Palace of Government, expressed all its "disappointment for the recent decision of some States to annex some of the secessionist States of the former Empire of Farshonia", as said by Prime Minister Duke Philippe August Van Sondenburg-Sorenberg.
"Although we understand that the area needs much more stability and order, such annexations only prove that the International Community cannot effectively respond to such a kind of critical situations. It is not possible to trust the goodwill behind an intervention, if at the end every intervention ends like this."
The words of the Prime Minister are a clear reference to the decision of Texania and Ireland to annex, respectively, Hannover-Oldenburg and Pomerania to their countries.
"It is a duty of everyone, of every responsible member of the International Community, to ensure that such things do not happen, as violations of International Law. We are very, very disappointed, and frustrated seeing that an intervention we promoted, together with others, has become another occasion for indiscriminate annexations."
Rumors from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs confirm that the Tarajani diplomacy is deeply saddened by these recent developments. A declaration released by a Ministry official states that "probably New Tarajan will act differently toward future interventions of international corps and organization", seemingly announcing a more critical attitude toward future missions not orchestrated by single alliances.



Meanwhile, from the Pasargade, the HQ of the RHIELD, the powerful military/intelligente organization of the New Tarajan, a spokesperson confirmed that "our special teams deployed in Regornia killed two key figures of the communist terrorists: they are Cha Nuerra and Cole Speer."

Former Farshonian States Granted Commonwealth Membership

Today after debate by the Planitan Executive Council, the Planitan Commonwealth has granted the former Farshonian state, the Republic of Hessen full membership. This decision came after Hessen applied for membership a couple months ago. Its transition to a Commonwealth state will take several months as the new member must adopt some regulation as it applies for the Torch Area and the Planitan Economic Area. “It is great,” a Hessian citizen says, “joining the Planitan Commonwealth will help our nation immensely.” With the admission of the Republic of Hessen, the Planitan Commonwealth has pledged 1 billion Planitan Notes to help rebuild and improve the nation to Commonwealth standards.

Planitan Space Program UPSA Launches Launches First Spacecraft

Today the first rocket by the Planitan space agency, UPSA launched its first space vehicle into mid earth orbit today. The launch came after long hard work by the new space agency. “It is exciting,” says a rocket engineer, “know the Planitan states can reach for the stars”. The official plans include a satellite network and an eventual space station. However dark rumors persist about the space agency, as it is rumored that the space agency can be a cover for a weapons program.

Diamond Resorts Founded

Today the Department of Industry announced the founding of the state owned enterprise Diamond Resorts. The announcements came after it was speculated that a hotel chain needed to be created to accommodate the influx of tourists that came to the Number One “World's favorite nation to sight-see.” Already 5 resorts are being planned in Liberia, Monterrey, Planitia, and North Cape. The hotels will be 5 star resorts near the ocean next to already popular tourist beaches. Dozens of smaller hotels are being planned near the large forests of Planita as well.

Today we learned from an unknown source that Planita has already deployed, adaptive camouflage in the works. It would help immensely with the secret operations created by Planita. The technology is rumored to not only work with land vehicles, but even ships, planes, and even buildings. What can Planita do with this technology.

After the news of the death of Lady Oriane VI, the Royal Council, under specific orders of His Majesty the King, ordered two days of mourning in the Kingdom.

The Royal Family will be followed by many representatives of the Tarajani aristocracy, including the Lord President of the Landsraad (father of the Queen and older brother of the Prime Minister), Prince Maximilian Van Sondenburg-Sorenberg.

For the first time during its history, the territory of Meisjegronden sent representatives to the Landsraad, in Astana. Five members of the aristocracy, lead by Count Jan Dominique Van Heeckeren, arrived today morning in the capital to take their seats inside the most important legislative and judicial body of the Kingdom.
"This is a great moment for Meisjegronden" commented Count Van Heeckeren: "We are the first members of the aristocracy to take a place in the Landsraad in representation of the colonies. And we will not be the lasts."
But let us look a little behind us, to the roots (and the importance) of this event.
Meisjegronden (literally, the Land of the Maiden, in Tarajan Dutch), was the first colony the ancient Kingdom of Tarajan acquired, as first step toward the formation of its colonial empire. The eastern part of the territory was colonized by a Tarajani expedition in 1720 J.E. (with the foundation of the capital city of Groenestadt, the Green City), while the western part was acquired from the East Company of the Antanaresian Republic twenty years later.
The Tarajani aristocracy became interested in the colony only one century after, and when the Royal Family escaped from the Communist Revolution, first to Casavarr, then to Groenestadt, it was still an underdeveloped area. Only with the reign of Conrad III and Conrad IV the colony saw the birth of a true economy, but it never obtained political recognition.
Now, King Friederick Wilhelm, with a Royal Decree, decided to grant it to the most ancient colony of Tarajan. The Decree, supported also by Marquis Uriel Van De Groot, Royal Viceroy for Colonies, began a reform that, sooner or later, will transform the political system of New Tarajan: now Meisjegronden has been allowed to have a Diet, and to send representatives to the Landsraad (as for the Kingdom, also colonies are divided into noble fiefdoms).

On Saturday, The Imperial Tokugawan government announced the establishment of the South Shirouma Sea Air Defense Identification Zone . It is a necessary measure for Imperial Tokugawa which is also called as a Tokugawa Sea to protect its state sovereignty and territorial and airspace security. It is conducive to maintaining flying safety in international airspace, and is in line with international laws and conventions. The announcement of the South Shirouma Sea ADIZ has earned understanding and recognition from an increasing number of countries and peoples, but misunderstandings or even distortions also exist. Representing the Imperial Tokugawan Defense Ministry, I make some interpretations on some issues that the outside world is concerned about.

These are the words used by Prime Minister Duke Philippe August Van Sondenburg-Sorenberg, after the announcement of the Irish President of the defeat of NIRA: "New Tarajan, through the RHIELD, already contributed to the defeat of NIRA. But, now, it's time to reconstruct, to rebuild. And New Tarajan, and the SECURS will do their part."
The Prime Minister confirmed that the first trance of the special fund (which will be called SECURS Irish Relief & Reconstruction Special Fund, or SIRRSF) will be of two billions Prands, offered by the Royal Tarajan Central Bank. All the other members of SECURS have been invited to "participate to this fund" by the Prime Minister.
Who took also the occasion to extend "the deepest congratulations of the Royal House, the Royal Council and all the people of New Tarajan to the Irish government and the Irish people for this glorious victory against terrorism."

The government has pushed through a controversial bill that has essentially made the nation a cash-free state. In a bid to crush corruption, tax evasion and the low level black market once and for all the government is removing the cash element from the nation altogether, digitalising the entire currency into the banking system while the reserve bank will maintain the entire physical cash reserves in undisclosed high security locations. The move will mean that the only way to purchase anything in the Social Democracy is to use Credit/Debit cards. The absence of physical money is set to end corruption, which is not so much of an issue in the Social Democracy, by ensuring that all transactions will be done in complete visibility of authorities, in this case banks, who are instructed to report any suspicious finding to the Department of Internal Affairs or the Inland Revenue Department for further investigation, depending on the nature of the transaction. More to the point, the primary goal of this bill is to end tax evasion, which is a substantial issue in a left wing nation of this calibre. The black market is also expected to take a substantial hit due to this bill, but the government emphasised that it would only really affect the low level market, as all high level dealing would surely manage to find another method to transfer funds without it being obvious to the banks, however, the Police are already tasked with dealing with these high level dealers through other methods. 

While some are calling this move oppressive, and an invasion of privacy, the vast majority of the population have welcomed the bill as it ensures a "fair go" policy for all, especially as the country heads to a more economically favoured future by ensuring that no, or near to none, people are able to exploit the many for private gain either through corruption or tax evasion etc.

Texanian Destroyers blockade articmainian troops.

4 Texanian Calhuli class Destroyers have been stationed 2km from Articmainian troop positions. They have denied any ships from entering the area, and have successfully blocked out articmainian troops from supplies. A 50 Km No-fly zone has been established in the general area of the troops, and Texanian officials have announced that they will shoot down any foreign planes flying.

We will not tolerate the Articmainian landing on texanian soil. We will treat it as an invasion, and we will respond to it as such.

Reports have it that an undisclosed amount of texanian troops are stationed beside the articmainians.

In other news, Regornian Supreme Leader, Fidiel Castroni, has recently been captured by  The "Lightning Fire" Second Special forces unit led by Christopher De La Guenci. He, as well as a number of top level officials, are being transported to Dallas by air. The Regornian command structure is expected to fall apart any day now. Some reports have it that the rebels are fleeing eastward to meet up with Articmainian forces, and some think they wish to join to Articmainian armed forces.

Articmainian fights off block aid and continues air battle.

Today Articmainia has faced a threat from 4 Texanian Calhuli class Destroyers. In response 6th fleet has sent 2 Numenburg class stealth War ships and 2 Kaiser class super Destroyers to elimnate or push back the Texainian Calhuli class Destroyers. It was a tough battle and 1 Kaiser class Destroyer was so badly hit that it had to retreat to the South Side colony and 1 Texainian ship destroyed and the other 2 was badly damaged and retreated. The last one is still fighting on but is currently being bombarded by the other Kaiser class Super Destroyer followed by the 2 stealth ships.







While the sea battle comes to a slow end the air battle continues as the 711 squadron leads the way and tries to knock out Texainian air supremacy. The only real bad thing that has happened is that the one of the Nokia class carriers has been badly hit by Texainian Bombers but is still operational. It seems the air battle will drag on for days with no end However Articmainian Imperial Marines have reached regordian air strip and is willing to take it and make it base of operations in that region.
