It clearly infringes national sovereignty.

Re: (Dismissed) Nuclear Weapons Control Act
No it doesnt. It puts a limit on how much a nuclear weapon can weigh. Eurasia himself said that was alright. Its not taking any weapons from you its not saying you can only have a certain amount it is putting a limit on the size of the weapon.Atletius wrote:It clearly infringes national sovereignty.
Re: (Dismissed) Nuclear Weapons Control Act
Secondly this, is poorly phrased and as such inappropriate for legislation.
So other "political bod[ies]" can have over 50 megatons? Only one can't?

One political body in itself can only have nuclear weapons up to the size of 50 megatons. They can have as many nuclear weapons as they wish but the size must not surpass 50 megatons.

Re: (Dismissed) Nuclear Weapons Control Act
I still maintain this legislation is flawed and may well be unconstitutional.

Re: (Dismissed) Nuclear Weapons Control Act
How is it infringing on national sovereignty. You can have the largest nuclear arsenal in the world and blow up every country with them. This is just saying it cant be bigger than 50 megatons. You can be exempt from it.Federation of Antanares wrote:Antanares is AGAINST this proposal for the reason explained.
Re: (Dismissed) Nuclear Weapons Control Act
If this is unconstitutional then the Chemical and Biological Weapons Ban Act should be unconstitutional. Nuclear weapons pose the same threat as these and they are all WMD's. If this infringes on National Sovereignty then so does that. but it was passed. was it not?
Re: (Dismissed) Nuclear Weapons Control Act
I prefer to don't have any kind of laws, if is possible, that control my armaments. The laws on the WMDs was enact before the new constitution, now, with the power that we have, we prefer to avoid any kind of limitation.

I'm with Antanares and I'm against this bill. I'm against IC legislation that infringes on the sovereignty of nations, and binding IC legislation in general. This bill definitely infringes on a sovereign nation's right to make its own choices regarding the make-up of its military and what it is able to do with its resources.
