It never specified that you had to register on the forums or in this thread. I had been talking to Eurussia about the speakership prior to registration ending, so technically I registered to him via telegram. Again, it was never specified that I must register here.

He told me he would run for speakership too, also he said so in his party (WARP) I'm sure.

i am not you nor a member of the WARP. i did not know and probably i would not be the only one.

if he wanted to register he had to do that on this forum when he should.

Considering that the position of speaker is uncontested, we can have Marquette registering a little late. Ain't no harm in that. On the contrary it will bring life and democracy to these elections.
Therefore as an elected member of Parliament, a citizen of this region and a candidate for the council i request EU to grant Marquette candidacy for the post of Speaker and give him a chance to contest.

remember the divide by 10 rule?. we have to obey the law if someone wants to or not.

Yes rules. But when rules are not clearly understood or due to some obstacles rules and deadlines cannot be met, then compromise is the key.

when i am to late for my train to the place i have to be. i do not call the train company for complains. ill just wait for the next train.

Land in case someone is wondering, your position as WA Delegate is safe as Kaevi cannot join the WA due to circumstances.

Allowing exceptions to the rule for every little incidence makes the rules seem meaningless and punishes those who were more attentive to the forums, a quality needed as Speaker, President, etc.

Catching a train and registering for elections are two very different things. I just think he should get a chance because tge seat for speaker is going uncontested. What kind if elections are those in which there is hardly any option? In this case only one option. (No offense to Kaevi). Such elections are undemocratic. But enough arguing. We should just waut for EU Russia's decision.

REGISTRATIONS ARE OVER. It has been a practice that all candidates are expected to register before an election, ever since. Within and outside of Parliament. It is also a DUTY of all NEWLY ELECTED MEMBERS to know what's happening in the organizatiom they belong. Knowing the intentions of Marquette even before the election, I was surprised not to see him register. Whatever the excuse, Marquette did not register. And the entire process is very transparent to avoid corruption. Hence, I cannot bend the rules in the name of compassion, hence, Marquette is late for registration that run way beyond the 24 hour limit and for the Marquette is not eligible to run for Speaker.

Please continue voting, Members of Parliament!
