Alan Shatter sues the Irish Government

Months after being found guilty by the Irish Supreme Court, Alan Shatter is once again back in the spot light. But this time the case is Shatter vs. the Irish Government. He told the nation that he was suing the Irish Government in this speech from his home.

Separatist Governor Wins Re-Election

The Governor of the State of Uihotu, Ward Tobias, has won re-election to a second term by winning a in a election he called a "referendum" on whether or not the State of Uihotu should separate from Talanzaar. Uihotu is a coastal state, located on the northeast area of the nation, an area where foreign military bases and Talanzaarian naval bases are located. The 12 million voters in Uihotu re-elected Governor Tobias in a 61% - 38% margin, a margin some say show that the State will separate if an referendum is held. "I can promise you that we will have a referendum as soon as possible and we will be a nation before my term ends!" said Tobias. Although there is no official way for a state to separate, Gov. Tobias said he would first establish an army, establish borders, create a self sustaining economy, destroy any foreign presence and take any military equipment left behind by Talanzaar, a plan that may cause bloodshed in the near future. The Presidential State House has released no statement regarding its future action to stop the Governor.

Following the final vote count of the public elections, a law was passed 74% to dissolve the Democratic Trust posts indefinitely and give all executive power to the rarely-used legislative representatives collectively. The Security Administration entered the executive office at 2:27 AM to escort the Second Democratic Trust and all related personnel out of the Palace of Democracy. This came as little surprise as thousands have been calling for more decentralization over the past few years. The Speaker of Government, Asrhile Feskosar, is now the spokesperson for the executive branch of government under this new action.

With this action, the executive branch of government has been merged with the legislative branch. Many political analysts expect this will make the nation more internally stable as many communists in the country felt betrayed that the government allowed the creation of capitalist zones without consent of the people. Asrhile Feskosar, considered to be a centrist politician, is expected to promote continued cooperation with the Economic Commission in order to repair the struggling economy.

NEW TARAJAN INT'L SYSTEM REORGANIZED
New law approved with great majority

It is reknown that the Kingdom of New Tarajan already enjoys the services of many of the most powerful intelligence agencies in the world. Organizations like the RHIELD, devoted to both intelligence gathering and military operations had their fame greatly increased thanks to the successful missions of their operatives, who often eliminated threats to national and global security with a single strike, and the massive presence of the legendary skycarriers.
But the RHIELD is only one of the many agencies devoted to Tarajani protection and security, and it was in the air since many months that the government was step-by-step feeling less confident in the capabilities of the actual system to effectively protect the Kingdom against the most recent threats posed in the international arena, like Eurussian no-stop expansionism, imperialism and continuous threat.
Thus, it was not surprising that the Imperial Council finally decided to dictate a complete reform of the Tarajani intelligence system, the Homeland Secturity Act. What is most surprising, is that such a reform met with large favour in both the Landsraad and the Diet, which approved the law with more than a two-thirds majority.
But let us see more clearly what will happen now in the Kingdom.

The RHIELD

The first major change will occur in the most famous Tarajani agency, the RHIELD. First of all, it will change its acronymn in Royal Hazard Intervention and Enforcement of Law Directorate. Although it could appear of low importance, in reality this change reflects as much as the true substance of the reform (for what concerns this agency, of course). Indeed, the RHIELD will be definitely independent (previously, it was nominally still attached as a subsidiary branch of the RDB), made as a Directorate (instead of a Division).
Another change will be in its sphere of competences: the new RHIELD will mainly detain its capabilities as military organization, as this will be its main goal. Intelligence capabilities will be now limited exclusively to strictly-needed one, in order not to put too much constraints on its action.

The new agencies

The most important change provided by the HRA, however, is the dismantlement of the Royal Defense Bureau (RDB). Its goals as main intelligence and security service of the Kingdom will now fall on different agencies: first of all, the Koninklijke Inlichtingendienst (KID, or Royal Intelligence Service). The agency will be mainly responsible for all foreign intelligence operations of the Kingdom, thus inheriting the massive intelligence web the RDB kept in every corner of the world.
The second agency to born out of the old Bureau is the Koninklijke Veiligheidsdienst (KVD, or Royal Security Service), which will be the homeland counter-part of the KID, with its jurisdiction extended to all internal security matters of the Kingdom.
Finally, a third agency has been created: it's the Koninklijke Huishouden Beschermingdienst (KHBD, standing for Royal Household Protection Service). This agency will be devoted exclusively to the protection of high-ranking officials and personalities of New Tarajan, including the members of the Royal House and the most prominent Landsraad Houses. The new law specifically designed who the KHBD will be entitled to protect, in order to avoid misunderstandings between the different agencies (and particularly the KVD). Also, the KHBD will provide intelligence informations and analysis to the King and the Prime Minister in very sensitive matters (related to both domestic and international issues). What will distinguish the KHBD from the abovementioned two other agencies will be its double-face nature, as both a civilian and military agency: indeed, due to the nature of its goal, it will include in its ranks the glorious Royal Guard Corps (which, of course, will still remain as an independent military unit of the Imperial military).

The military intelligence

The third point of the Homeland Reform Act is the military intelligence, which will now be structured through a newly-created Koninklijke Militaire Inlichtingen en Veiligheidsdienst (KoMIV, or Royal Military Intelligence and Security Service). The service will provide all the intelligence informations and analysis needed by the OMNI Enforcer. It will also be enabled to carry out paramilitary and covert operations through a specifically-designed division, composed by something around 2.000 personnel.

The command structure

In order better to coordinate the entire system, the HRA designed a specific structure, with the aim to oversee and direct the new and old agencies with their new and old competences.
This is the Algmeen Comite voor Veiligheid (ACV, standing for Unified Commitee for Security).
Composed by the Directors of all the intelligence and security services of the Kingdom (including the RHIELD), the Committee will be headed by a Royal Chief Commissioner, who will personally respond to the King (and, secondly, to the Imperial Council and the Landsraad) for the direction of the entire intelligence and security structure. The Commissioner will have also the task of managing the infrastructures and systems shared by all agencies, such as the HARDENED satellite web system (previously under exclusive RHIELD jurisdiction).

It is clear that the Homeland Reform Act will greatly improve the already incredible Tarajani capabilities in the field of intelligence and homeland security. And what is even more clear, is the mind behind the entire reform: formally presented by the Bailiff (Minister of Homeland Security and Justice) Prince Raimond Mathieu Van Geldern, it's no mystery that its main supporter (and designer) is in reality Wali Azura Roxanne Al Mawsili. And it's not a coincidence that the King and the Landsraad appointed her, former head of the RHIELD, as first Royal Chief Commissioner of the ACV.
Away from political factionalism, fierce supporter of an aggressive anti-Eurussian stance not only in diplomacy, but even through direct action, Al Mawsili obtained great favour in the Court and the government after the recent developments in the international arena, and now she's the head of the most powerful intelligence system of the world.

Europe of the Auditore era (from the name of the now former President of the Republic) is finished, with the end of the five-year government mandate. Have been five years of hard battles on the law and legislative proposals on many different topics. These were years filled with many difficulties between government crisis and unstable international scenario. And after you have successfully started the first approaches to overcome global challenges, such as foreign competition, the fight against climate change, the battle for technological innovation and the construction of a real supranational government of the World Alliance, the Government of Ezio Auditore ends the mandate in the best way.
Now is the time to look to the future, the future of Europe, by now an established global great power, in terms of diplomatic, economic, military and social, which without a doubt will strongly influence the international scenario. The decision on the future of the nation, and therefore the future of the World Alliance, of course, it is up to the citizens. Let's see how they are expressed, with emphasis on political parties in the race and on the electoral law.

THE ELECTORAL CAMPAIGN & THE PARTIES

The election campaign, particularly bright tones and aggressive, lived with great involvement from the citizens, started a few months ago, and ended a week before the election (it is customary to bring down the electoral silence last week on all media to leave people time to decide). He immediately set up immediately a clash between the two dominant coalitions, the Coalition of the European Left, in the government in the previous term, against the Coalition of Liberals and Conservatives, currently in opposition. The last session of the election campaign, studded events, public meetings, televised debates that have involved and strongly influenced the public life of the nation in recent months, it was the Eurovision Debate. It is a meeting of all the major candidates in the elections, televised live on all national networks, as well as live streaming on the internet. Simply the candidates have had to answer questions on various topical issues (economy, foreign policy, environment, etc..), exposing their vision on the future of Europe. The citizens, through the main social media, were able to interact directly with the candidates. A good example of direct democracy, passionately followed by millions of voters.

But let's take a closer look at the political parties in the race.
For the Coalition of Liberals and Conservatives:
-European Popular Party,with Jean Claude Juncker as candidate,was critical of the moves of the previous government, especially on the economy. The party supports a liberal vision of the world economy, and then simply asks more laissez-faire. Considers harmful government spending, that according to the party that should be drastically cut, calls for increased liberalization and privatization of public enterprises and services.
-European Conservative and Liberal Party,with Guy Verhofstadt as candidate,presents an even more extremist. Calls for drastic privatization, including in health and education, calls for deep cuts in public spending (particularly on welfare and social policies) and calls for drastic remission of tax. It supports a more aggressive policy in the external field, and calls for increased spending on defense and security. It has very closed positions with respect to civil rights, in particular the critical recognition of same-sex couples and calls for the abolition of abortion and euthanasia.

For the Coalition of European Left:
-European Socialist Party,with Martin Schulz as candidate,presents a vision in line with that of the previous government. Asks a heavy increase in public spending (especially in welfare, education, health and social policies), supports the nationalization of public services,of infrastructures and of strategic enterprises. Also calls for tax increases on the wealthy social classes, to help those most disadvantaged. It supports a strong public support for investment in business, innovation and infrastructure, calls for more policies to protect the environment. It has a very Keynesian vision of the economy. In foreign policy, calls for an aggresiveness proportionate to situations, more alliance relationships and increased international integration.
-European Communist Party,with Alexis Tsipras as candidate,has an even more fundamentalist in the economy, and calls for a greater role of the state, at the expense of the private sector. It supports more rights for workers, particularly wage increases and stability of contracts. He criticized the increase in military spending, but says greater security. Calls for more investments and policies for the ecological transition. It supports more civil rights and more open policies toward immigration.
-European Green Party,with Ska Keller as candidate,focuses on environmental issues. Calls for more investment to the ecological transition, especially supports increased efforts by the state and private companies, to technological innovation. Calls for more stringent policies to protect the environment and consumers. Support policies for reducing waste and increasing the use of renewable energy. Supports interventions for sustainable production areas, urban areas and infrastructures.

THE ELECTORAL LAW

The elections for the Chamber of Deputies (the first chamber of parliament) are held every 4 years. The Chamber, after the election, according to the majority resulted from the elections, appoints the President of the Republic,by a majority vote. The latter then leads to consultations with the Chamber, look for a personality (or the President of the Council of Ministers) to be entrusted with the formation of the new government. The President of the Republic appoints the President of the Council of Ministries, who then appoints the ministers (who must be approved by the first). Once find the right personality, according to the parliamentary majorities, there is the oath on the Constitution. To enter the function the President of the Council of Ministries and the ministers must be approved by the Chamber of Deputies, which gives confidence with a majority vote.

The second chamber, the Senate of the Republic, is still elected by the people, but does not participate in the formation of new governments and even the legislative process, and also has a different period of election.

Can vote in elections and may be elected as a Member of Parliament anyone over 18 years old. The vote is in one day (Sunday) with the seats open from 8 am to 18. Minimum age for ministers and even the President of the Council of Ministries is always 18 years old, just for the President of the Republic is a prescribed a minimum age of 40 years.

In essence, the European electoral system is proportional, but there is also an important majoritarian element that completes and complements it.
Each voter has two votes, the Prime Vote and the Second Vote. With the first vote the voter votes for one person, with the second vote for a party. It is possible and it happens very often that a citizen votes in accordance with the vote for party X and the first vote for a candidate of another party Y.
In fact, the second vote is the most important because with it the citizens decide, in proportion, the proportions in which the parties will be represented in the next parliament. That is, a party who has obtained 25% of the "second votes" will have also 25% of the deputies in the Chamber of Deputies, another party that has 9% of the "second votes" will have 9% of the deputies,and so on. In fact there is a election threshold set at 5%, all parties below this threshold will not enter parliament.
The Prime Vote is a majoritarian element of the electoral law. Europe is divided into hundreds of electoral colleges (one for each Region) and in each college is directly elected member of Parliament the candidate who obtains the majority of "first votes".
So half of the deputies are elected directly by the voters throught the Prime Vote. The other half goes to parliament through the so-called regional lists throught the Second Vote, which are lists of candidates defined at the regional level by the respective parties.

The purpose of this system that might seem a little complicated is to create the possibility of being elected even for people who do not belong to the major parties, but who are known and respected at the municipal level. In fact, any citizen can apply - under certain conditions - as a candidate by the Prime Vote in his electoral college and if he gets a relative majority, enter parliament without being part of any national party. But there is also a second advantage of the Prime Rate: if a national party gets less than 5%, but if it can count on at least 3 candidates directly elected in the constituencies, then enter anyway in parliament, according to the percentage obtained. All while maintaining the proportional result of the election.

THE RESULTS & THE NEW GOVERNMENT

The Coalition of the European Left has obtained the relative majority in the elections. In particular, the European Socialist Party got 221 seats,the European Communist Party got 56 seats and the European Green Party got 44 seats. The Coalition has also received the support of the Party of Freedom and Democracy, a political formation committed to the protection of the interests of local communities, with 30 seats. With the support provided by 60 of the 92 independent MPs, the majority to form a government of center-left is now guaranteed, with 411 seats out of 751 total.

The Coalition of Liberals and Conservatives did not get a majority: the European Popular Party got 202 seats,while the European Conservative and Liberal Party got 64 seats. Even with the support of the Christian Democratic Party (a center-right formation, with ideas similar to those of the coalition), which won 42 seats, and with the support of 32 Independent Members, the coalition did not get a majority, with 340 seats out of 751 total.

Basically, looking at the parliamentary majority, has formed a distinctly socialist government, which then continue the policies undertaken in the previous mandate, strengthened and motivated by a great deal of support from the citizens.
Analysts say that citizens have rewarded the excellent work done by the previous government, which strengthened the national economy, enhanced human development, increased employment and created large trade surpluses,all policies that have made Europe one of the first international powers,thus confirming the socialists in power.
Recall that the previous government increased public spending, investing hundreds of billions of Euros for the development of infrastructure,for the development of the industrial and manufacturing sector of the economy,for the development of agriculture and fisheries. The previous government has focused on the regulation of the economy, to protect consumers, workers and the environment, starting the first important steps to complete the sustainability of the nation, particularly in terms of energy (reduction of waste , abandonment of fossil fuels, massive development of renewable energy, infrastructure modernization). Also there was the nationalization of strategic enterprises and infrastructure, strengthening of public services (with large increases in investment on education, health, welfare and social protection), the increase in spending on research, the strong support for industry innovation, the increase in expenditure on defense and security. In foreign policy, there has been enormous effort for greater international integration, the creation of regional organizations, efforts to resolve conflicts and help the people in need. The previous government increased its bilateral and multilateral international ties, and you are guaranteed a permanent seat on the WA-Parliament.
The new government will continue on this line.

After a heated stage of consultations, the newly elected Chamber of Deputies has appointed Stefano Rodotà, known jurist and academic professor, as President of the Republic. The latter, after having explored the parliamentary majority and the moods, taking into account the outcome of the elections and the views of citizens, has appointed Martin Schulz (the socialist candidate) as President of the Council of Ministries,and then there was the appointment of the various ministries. Yesterday the Chamber of Deputies has confirmed the new Government (chaired by Martin Schulz,and his ministries), voting trust by a large majority, and after the oath of office on the European Constitution, there was the official start of the mandate.

A Growing City

The City of London over the past 3 years has gone from a population of under 3 million citizens to a mega city of nearly 16 million people. Dublin itself only has about 17 million people. So it looks like in the coming years, Dublin, may loose its crown as the largest city in the United Kingdom and maybe the Capital City of the United Kingdom. London is already the home of the Parliament and the Royal Residence.

The Shuttle, Atlantis, will be ready to go to the moon on the 21st of July. And Ireland will join many others in stepping on the moon.

In other news, NASA has also announced that two unmanned rovers will be launched at the surface of Mars.

NZ Narrowly Averts Nuclear Disaster

Meridian Energy's "Exelon" Power plant on standby as the Department of SOE's and the Department of Energy investigate the incident

The "Exelon" Power Station on Kenson Island (Colloquially called Reactor Island) has narrowly avoided a catastrophic nuclear disaster after a faulty control rod paired with a rusty water valve gate led to a sudden uncontrollable rise in the temperature of the "East-2" reactor core which would have led to a meltdown had a quick thinking worker not intervened by initiating the plant wide fire protocol. The worker, said to be a newly hired safety technician, smashed the glass and activated the fire alarm after realising that the backup cooling systems were failing to kick in, thus turning on the plant wide sprinklers and shutting down all reactors while flooding the cores with sea water (Which is to now be disposed of in a safe manner). Thanks to the worker's ingenious actions, perhaps the largest nuclear accident in known history has been avoided. Meridian Energy has announced that the worker was a 'Kara Waller", a resident in the nearby Meridian Energy township of Newport, and that she has been quite generously rewarded for her quick thinking (Rumours state she was given a $400,000 bonus, but this is yet to be confirmed), and that she is to be soon promoted to position as a senior safety inspector at the plant as a result of her having proved her capabilities.

However, the Department of SOE's, The Department of Energy and the Electricity Commission of New-Zealand have all announced that they have conducted a in depth investigation of the incident and have come to the conclusion that "Meridian Energy", the SOE that runs all the Nuclear Plants in the Social Democracy, consequently the largest electricity producer, is maintaining sub par safety standards in its various nuclear power plants. While Meridian is obeying international law and safety standards, the Department of SOE's found the plants standards to be below that which is expected of the nations various SOEs. In a statement regarding the issue the Prime Minister stated "We have no interest in becoming a radioactive wasteland, we will not loose all that our ancestors have worked for simply because of some irresponsible money saving actions made by the managers at a plant to maximise it's profits. My government and the Electricity Commission WILL and MUST be completely assured of the safety standards of the nuclear plants, only then will be continue forward with their operation. We are more than happy to shut down Meridian and let "Mighty River" and "Mercury" pick up the slack should that be necessary. Therefore my message to Meridian is simple, get your act together, money is not the issue now. Furthermore the value of money should never surpass the value of safety, and that message goes out to not only Meridian but to every company operating within my governments jurisdiction, we will NOT tolerate lapses in safety standards."

After recent outbreaks of the Ebola V2 Virus, The Holy Empire of Artite closes its borders to the world except for Roman Alliance Members. It can not control the flow of people entering the Empire so Artite has decided to slow the entry of people all together. Tourists can no longer freely travel to Artite. If people wish to enter the Holy Empire they must acquire proper paper work at their local hospital and be blood tested then apply for a tourist visa on the Imperial Website of Immigration. Trading will still continue with the WA and RA. Roman Alliance member's citizens may travel freely between their nation and the Holy Empire of Artite however, they must provide a travel history log upon arrival in any of the Empires airports.

The police have been posted around the Empire and stationed at every airport. With the threat of the virus and potential terrorist attacks against the Empire under the guise of the Ebola V2 Virus, Artite has also issued warnings to international airlines wishing to fly to Artite, not to. Imperial Fighters will escort all international flights who have not been authorized to enter Imperial Airspace out of Imperial Airspace, failure to comply with these wishes will result in the immediate force landing of the aircraft and the detaining of all passengers and crew of the aircraft.

With Chinese ships en route to the Sea of Artite, the Imperial Courts have ordered the deployment of the Imperial Navy to patrol Imperial Waters. Also the Imperial Air Force has scrambled B-52 Stratofortress bombers to fly just above the Chinese Fleets. In a statement, Minister of War Gerald Hollander stated,
