Despite being a quiet archipelagic country at the cross roads of the Atlantis, Mnemosyne, Polynesia, and Olympia continents, the Federation of Serenarea is a major player in international politics due to its membership in the world Security Council. And despite distancing itself from the major events of the world, Serenarea is back in spotlight again as it receive His Excellency, Vice Chancellor Dmitry Medvedev who arrived in the morning for an Official Visit to the country. He was warmly welcomed by Proconsul Junkin III who will be having a series of bilateral talks and discussions with the visiting Eurussian state leader at the presidential palace throughout his one-day visit to the country. The two leaders are also expected to sign a set of bilateral agreements aimed on strengthening the alliance of the two countries and boost trade and economy. The two leaders are also expected to visit historic landmarks in the city and discuss bikateral and international issues. At the eve of the Official Visit, a State Dinner will be held at the palace to celebrate the strong alliance between the Federation of Serenarea and the Eurussian Empire.

After initiating an international forum on the possibility of adopting an international reserve currency and despite the public opposition of the Eurussian Exporters Association on promoting the Euro as international reserve currency, the Ministry of Treasury supported the proposal of the MEU Government regarding the mechanism on adopting the international reserve currency for the world. The ministry said that such adoption will surely strengthen global economies and its financial markets. Although the Treasury Ministry stopped short of confirming if it will go as far as fielding the Euro as possible candidate as global reserve currency due to its popularity and stability made possible by a resilient and robust Eurussian economy. The ministry said that all factors and all sectors are being considered however urged all stakeholders to refrain from further speculations as the steps in adopting a reserve currency is just on its early stages. 

After the appointment of former Russian Ambassador to Eurussia Laurent Fabius as the Russian Government's top diplomat, it received a rare attention from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who welcomed his appointment after the immediate dismissal of former mnister Hammond due to a controversial videotaped baseless criticisms against the Eurussian nation. The ministry further said that Foreign Minister Fabius' appointment could further strengthen the relationship between Eurussia and Russia. According to the diplomatic community, Fabius was behind the strong ties the two countries' are enjoying today during his two terms stint as Russia's envoy to Moscow whose skills and professionalism earned him respect at the Eurussian Foreign Ministry. It is unclear if Moscow had a hand to the immediate removal of former Foreign Minister Hammond but analysts say that his dismissal saved the warming and boominh relations between Moscow and Moskva.

For the first time since the total deterioration of diplomatic ties between the Republic of New Korrea and the Grand Empire of Xolox due to the unlawful imprisonment of former North Korrean dictator Kim Jongun, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has publicly and tacitly supported the requests of the New Korrean Government to bring the ousted dictator into trial in front of the Korrean people who are seeking justice for the decades of oppression they have experienced under the authoritarian regime. The Foreign Ministry said that the Korrean people deserves justice by the Korrean people, of the Korrean people, and for the Korrean people which observers say is a tacit and indirect reference to the Loxan Government's refusal even after a series of international cases brought against the embattled country. Analysts say that the statements from Moscow is a clear sign of a cooling ties with its ally while a sign of a warming relations with Pyongsong. They also said this setback on Eurussia-Xolox relations has been obviously seen during the deliberations of cases brought against Xolox by other countries in the Security Council and even strong opposition from its members which some analysts believe could be obstacles on its bid to regain a seat in the Security Council after failing to win over a case to lawfully get back the Vice Presidency. It can be noted that the Loxan Government gave up its seat after a falling out with Moscow due to failed back door talks to support reforms in the world body through legal means which the Scouting Government successfully did. Nonetheless, analysts agree that the current state of cold ties between Eurussia and Xolox will pass in due time, if they ever find a common ground in settling their differences.

The official signing of agreements were also graced and attended by the President of the Eurussian Power Corporation which represents the private sector's stake on the joint commercial ventures of Eurussia with Ebsotz in the energy sector.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement expressing Her Imperial Majesty, Empress Elizabeth's sympathy, in behalf of the Eurussian Government and the Eurussian nation, for the people of the Federation of Serenarea following the massive eruption of Mount Elden located at the heart of northern islands of the country causing massive tsunamis on its neighboring islands of Serenarea. The Eurussian monarch vowed to extend all the necessary aid for the entire nation of Serenarea with the aim of easing their grief, and hardship.

Just minutes after learning the catastrophe occured in Serenarea, the Eurussian Government immediately dispatched one of its nuclear powered aircraft carriers, an EUN Nimitz Class Supercarrier, stationed at the Duchy of Guernsey, just north of Serenarea across the Chivalry Sea, and an EUN Mercy Class Hospital Ship, stationed at the Duchy of Gibraltar, just east of Serenarea to immediately provide medical aid and emergency assistance to the Serenarean Government. The combined emergency fleet of the two massive ships carries at least 5,000 troops ready for duty which will greatly help on the search and rescue and even retrieval efforts around Mount Elden. The EUN Nimitz Class Supercarrier is a vessel of the Eurussian Navy which is part of the Eurussian Atlantis Command while the massive EUN Mercy Class Hospital Ship is part of the Eurussian Mnemosyne Command.

The low profile week-long gathering of world leaders from Eurussia, Snarfia, Scottlands, and Muchos Estados Unidos in the heavily secured capital city of Mosnarf has finally concluded with another set of milestone agreements among these peace loving nation states. The rare convening of the Council of the Neutral Alliance Treaty Organization has been initiated by the Snarfian Government which seek to strengthen the alliance further for the benefits of all its member states. The heads of state and heads of government that attended are Chancellor Vladimir Putin of Great Eurussia, President Jeremy Meinsma of Snarfia, President Nicola of the Scottish Republic, and President Walker Brush of Muchos Estados Unidos whose agenda mainly focused on improving the existing institutions of the NATO to combat the widespread terrorism around the world and environmental conservation and cooperation. In the joint communique released by the NATO Secretariat in Moscow, in behalf of the NATO Office in Mosnarf which supervised the NATO Summit in Snarfia, the leaders of the member states of the NATO Council have agreed to increase the composition of the NATO Strike Force into a 36,000 strong unified force from its current 12,000 manpower with logistical support of 240 equipment from its current 160 logistical level. The NATO Council also approved the creation of a new international organization under the  NATO, the NATO Environmental Assembly, which will serve as the coordinating and consultative body that will gather all local authorities and local government officials and as well as all civic organizations throughout the countries across the NATO to share their experiences in implementing environmental programs and policies to harmonize NATO-centered efforts to preserve and conserve the environment. Until today, the NATO remains one of the most exclusive and reclusive alliance of peaceful nation states aiming to common development and advancement aided by its ten independently affiliated international organizations.

On the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Snarfia, His Excellency, Chancellor Vladimir Putin and Snarfian President Jeremy Meinsma held bilateral talks to discuss wide ranging international and bilateral matters. In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Eurussian Government finally confirmed the Official Visit of the Chancellor of Great Eurussia to Pyongsong, Republic of New Korrea, the first time a head of government of Eurussia will visit the country after the war on Korrean Liberation and after the cancelled visit of Chancellor Putin during the regime of the former Supreme Leader Kim Jongun due to border tensions with Eurussia's ally, Articmainia. He is expected to arrive in Pyongsong, the new Korrean capital, to officially and finally meet with the President of the Republic of New Korrea and hold a series of meetings with the New Korrean Government. He is also slated to travel to Pyongyang, the former seat of power of the former DPRK and today's seat of administration of the Eurussian Occupied Zone of New Korrea to personally attend the handover ceremonies with President Leem that will finally and symbolically conclude Eurussia's post-Korrean Liberation war control over the vast swath of lands in the Republic of New Korrea. 

EU VOWS  €10M AID TO SERENAREA

The Director of the Eurussian International Development Agency arrived in Serenarea to meet with the officials of the Serenarean Government in-charge on the post-disaster management in the affected areas of the multiple disasters brought by the massive eruption of Mount Elden, located at the heart of the northern islands of the country. The Director paid a courtesy call to Pro-consul Junkin of Serenarea and personally visited the evacuation facilities and the affected areas in northern Serenarea. The Director also met with the OIC of the Eurussian Humanitarian Operations in Serenarea and as well as the Eurussian personnel aboard the EUN Nimitz Class Supercarrier and EUN Mercy Class Hospital Ship docked in the country. The visit of the Director concluded in a joint press conference with her counterpart announcing a €10 million euro foreign aid from the Eurussian Government to the Serenarean Government to help in the reconstruction and recovery efforts of the country.

Despite the diplomatic tensions created by the founding of the Islamic States in the Phoenicia continent between the Wirbanskian Empire and Muchos Estados Unidos, and as well as the rumored efforts of Washington to persuade Moscow to postpone or even cancel the visit of Emir Abu Lakiptani, the monarch of the tiny island state well known as the ISIS, has arrived in the country for his first State Visit to the Eurussian Empire with military honours and pageantry accorded by the host state. The Emir of ISIS was personally greeted by His Imperial Highness, Crown Prince William, at the airport who also accompanied him to the Imperial Kremlin Palace where Her Imperial Majesty Empress Elizabeth formally welcomed Emire Abu to the Eurussian Empire and as well as met the other members of the Imperial Family. Later on, the visiting monarch met with His Excellency, Chancellor Vladimir Putin at the White House for bilateral talks and a bilateral meeting with the Eurussian Cabinet. The bilateral Friendship Treaty has been signed between Eurussia and the Islamic States sealing their economic and diplomatic relations. A series of commercial agreements were also signed focusing on the country's natural resources development.

On the following day of the State Visit, the Emir of the ISIS paid a courtesy call to the Eurussian President of the WA Security Council at the WA Headquarters in Moscow and flew to Saint Petersburg to visit the main offices of the WA Peacekeeping Force, the WA Space Agency, WA Health Agency, and the WA Cultural Agencies. It is reported that Emir Abu Lakiptani raised his country's bid for Security Council membership during his meetings with Eurussian officials and as well as WA Security Council officials. By late afternoon, the Emir returned to Moscow to attend the State Banquet hosted by Empress Eizabeth in honour of the head of state of the Islamic States joined by members of the Imperial Family, government ministers, and several other well known public figures. It is unclear if the State Visit from the Emir of ISIS have strained the ties between Eurussia and Muchos Estados Unidos which has been conducting inquiries against the ISIS due to suspected links to terrorism by which Moscow has ignored.

The Ministry of Transportation announced that following the advice from the Eurussian Health Protection Agency of the Ministry of Health & Education, all people that have come or have visited Scottlands within the last four weeks will be subjected to heavy airport and seaport screening quarantines following the confirmed cases of SARS in Scottlands. The measure aims prevent the spread of the dangerous disease, which is believed to be fatal, through-out the country and even in other parts of the world. On the other hand, the Eurussian Health Protection Agency assured the general public that it is closely coordinating with the Scottish Government for any development on the spreading disease known as SARS.
