Monarchal head of State Andrew IV is departing to Moscow to meet with the Eurussian government to discuss bilateral cooperation, the Prime Minister; David Johnston is departing for New Zealand to celebrate the entrance of Arcadiana into the Coalition of Sovereign Socialist States and finally the Minister of Foreign Affairs is on her way to Articmania to discuss the parameters of a trade agreement between the two nations.

Arcadiana is breaking a longstanding history of diplomatic isolation by foraging trade agreements and military alliances overseas. The first of these initiatives was becoming a member state of the Coalition of Sovereign Socialist Nations earlier this week. High hopes of course are shared at home in Arcadiana as the government pursues friendships abroad.

The Eurussian Chancellor, Vladimir Pootin has announced that the central government will now again allocate a massive portion of the national budget to law enforcement development throughout the nation to ensure efficiency in combating crimes. These came after years of budget cuts initiated by the former ruling party to bring down income tax rates that brought, according to analysts, demoralization of the country's police force due to lack of funding and their supervision were transferred to the ducal governments.

The chancellor said that the government is just waiting for the Parliament to pass the law centralizing the country's police force and will be allocated funds from the national budget.

The Eurussian Empire has formally welcomed His Royal Highness Andrew IV of Arcadiana for its first and historic State Visit in Eurussia today. Until today the Third Arcadianan Air Group and it's sole sub unit the Seventh Arcadianan Air Division of the Royal Arcadianan Air Force (RAAF) has devoted the entirety of its resources to Army Cooperation Air Command through the employment of Chinook and Griffon helicopters. As of today however these army cooperation assets while remaining a part of the RAAF will be operationally transferred to the command of the Army Units they service with two squadrons being allocated to each Division.

In this wake a new capability will be added to the RAAF. This will be Long Range conventional and nuclear strike. This will be conducted through the reactivation of retired aircraft which will be used to fill the ranks of this reformed Air Division. Currently the following aircraft are being rebuilt:

- Canberra ECM. 9 Electronic Countermeasures Aircraft (20)
- Vulcan B. 1 Strategic Low Level Bomber (65)
- Victor K. 2 Tactical Refuelling Aircraft (20)


The Avro Vulcan B. 2 which until recently has been used as a conventional bomber will have its strike capabilities improved with the employment of the Blue Steel Missile, the big brother of the shorter ranges ASMP employed by the Mirage 2000N fleet.

Meanwhile pilots and maintenance crews are being requalified on them and four bases, a station and a depot are being allocated in the south of the nation. The Mirage 2000N fleet will be dispersed throughout the tactical fighter squadrons of the regular air divisions in the RAAF. They will provide an intermediate nuclear and conventional strike role.

All of this is coming in preparation of Operation Foot Pursuit which will be an Armed Forces wide readiness exercise which will showcase the capabilities of the entire Arcadianan Armed Forces to draw potential allies and deter potential enemies alike.

Where to find the money to cover the measurement?

To cover the guaranteed minimum income will be needed, according to estimates, at least € 50 billion per year.
Much of the cost can be abundantly covered by government funds already available, but will require other maneuvers.
The government will be forced to apply a further tax on the income of the richest people and economically in good condition.
This tax, applied to incomes over € 90,000, will be called "The Contribution of Social Solidarity," and will amount to approximately € 300 semiannual spending.

During the National LGBT Day celebration yesterday, Chancellor Vladimir Pootin, who made an unannounced attendance to the event, shocked the gay community and civil rights activists when requested to give an inspirational message and announced that the government has already asked the Parliament to pass a legislation legalizing same sex marriages nationwide.

Under the new law, all ducal laws restricting marriages will be overruled by the national legislation that will abolish the provisions of the previous same sex marriage law that gave the power to enact laws on the matter to the ducal governments and parliaments.

According to recent surveys, the majority (70%) of Europe's population would be in favor of such a choice, but there are oppositions.
Especially those from the Catholic parties and of the European right.

The announcement by President

The official announcement of the willingness of the Government to legalize gay marriage comes in a completely unexpected way.
The announcement was made by President Ezio Auditore, during a press conference this afternoon.
Single topic of the conference was in fact the law on Minimum Income Guarantee (new measure of the government today officially approved).
The President, however, perhaps encouraged by what happened in Eurussia and Aloia about to gay marriage, he decided to make the announcement, at the end of the conference.

The reactions

The reactions are varied.
Parties and movements of the left and center, especially the Democratic Party (currently in government, which represents the European Socialist faction) say they are happy with the event.
The movements for civil rights and gay organizations hope that the law will be approved as soon as possible.
The moderate right-wing parties (especially the Freedom Party, the main right-wing party) say that gay rights must be guaranteed, but that family values ​​should not be trampled upon: their position is therefore ambiguous.
Organizations and Catholic parties, supported by the far-right parties (especially the European National Party, the main party of the extreme right) announce battle against the law and say they are determined not to approve it.
Across Europe, over the next few days, various events will be held for and against the new law.

At the same time the Foreign Affairs Minister Julia Roberts has returned from a successful trade agreement brokering in Articmania to establish a military and political alliance with the United States of Schor. Riots across Yellasia and Low Republic result in scheduling of early elections in Yellasia

Early elections have been scheduled for June 1st after Yellasia's economy has taken another blow. Before the decision, riots raged in the City of Yell for five days, sometimes spreading to other regions and pressuring the government to act. The riots in Low City nearly took Dr. Low's life.

This is not the first time this year early elections have been held within the nation's territory; autonomous countries Coreelia and Huskdor held their own just two weeks ago, resulting in a Socialist-Liberal Democratic coalition in Huskdor and a Conservative-'People's Action' coalition in Coreelia.

Yellasia's economy was expected to stabilise and restore growth, but instead has been hit by its hardest recession in decades, contracting by a staggering 9%. Unemployment has risen to a record high of 9.1%, and many workers have seen a reduction in salary of up to 3,000 Yells.

Coreelia and Huskdor have taken a mild dip, but have not experienced another crisis. Unemployment has however risen back to over 12% in both nations. Coreelia wishes to combat this by improving its tourism industry and by funding public works programmes, while Huskdor has seen some success in protecting its own industries.

The country remains relatively stable, but times are getting tougher and the future is uncertain.

On the other hand, the Low Republic has experienced huge economic growth, growing by over 50%. Its 'Age of Reform' has seen the relatively wealthy country become more prosperous despite its isolationism, as well as the easing of Dr. Low's authoritarian regime. Despite this, riots have broken out(which are ongoing), and Dr. Low was nearly assassinated. The riots are thought to have been inspired by the Yellasian riots near the border. Rioters are demanding greater income equality and government action in raising health and living standards. The government has recently sent in more police to break up the riots.

The parties expected to gain a sizeable amount of seats in Yellasia's Parliament are:

Yellasian Socialist Party: Yellasia's majority party for fifteen years, headed by current Prime Minister, Carl Avery. The party supports the creation of more public sector jobs with infrastructure and research initiatives, but has announced that it is willing to compromise on the partial privatisation of some industries. The party supports economic diversification, has pledged not to resort to austerity measures, and has maintains its stance on certain issues such as immigration. The party supports gradual reunification with the Low Republic.

Yellasian Conservative Party: Supports widening the private sector while also increasing foreign trade. Some support increasing ties with the Eznurf Pact while others do not. The party supports decreasing immigration as well as slightly reducing military spending, focusing the spending on the Yellasian-Low border. The party wishes to withdraw any peaceful relations with the Low Republic.

Yellasian Independence Party: Supports liberalisation of the economy, some tax reductions, and withdrawal from the Eznurf Pact. The party wishes to reduce immigration by 90% and does not support any further diplomacy with the Low Republic.

People's Party: Supports maintaining public spending and diversification of the public sector, but also supports more integration with the international economy. While generally supportive of immigration, many party members wish to reduce it to the 2011 level, when only 10% of the population was foreign born compared with today's 13%. The party supports full integration with the Low Republic if the Republic agrees to further reform.

Minor parties expected to make some gains include the Yellasian National Party, Environmental Party, Union Party, Communist Party, and Democratic Socialist Party.
