Yellasia and Dromoda formalise peaceful relations

For the first time in history, neighbouring countries, the People's Republic of Dromoda and the United Kingdom of Greater Yellasia have established diplomatic relations.

In the past, relations between the two nations were strained due to Yellasia's handling of the Low Republic, but Yellasia has promised a referendum to the Low people.

The two nations agree to:

1. Free travel between nations
2. Free trade
3. To open embassies in each nation's capital.
4. Allow free travel of merchant ships in the Dragon Sea located between Dromoda and Yellasia.

Yellasia is currently in talks with Europe and Asia as well.

With polls showing Grigson leading the USS elections, The NZ Government is in a state of panic. If Grigson were to win the USS election, he would effectively cut all relations with, the "Socialist", NZ. Many economists have described this motion as a suicide mission by Grigson's Government, as trade with NZ is crucial for both economies. If Grigson were to truly cut all relations with NZ, both nations could each face an approx. 30% shrink in the economy due to loss of crucial trade, thus causing heavy losses in the secondary sector. This will in turn drastically rise the unemployment rate and drive this two nations into national instability and unrest. This is particularly disastrous considering that these two nations are all that hold the cold war in control, if they are driven into instability it is almost certain that war will break out between the CSSN and GE.

Victor Hernandez has dropped out of the USS Presidential Race. This leaves James Grigson of the Independent Party and Shadow Schorr from the Conservative Party. The latest poll shows Grigson up 50.7% to Schorr's 49.3%. The two candidates will be giving their final speeches soon. These are known to often swing the momentum into one candidates favor before the election.

The Eurussian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, held an official trip today in the Independent State of Naujoji Amerika to formally signal the start of diplomatic relations between the two countries located at the both far ends of the region. He held an audience with the President of Naujoji Amerika and a meeting with the host government's Cabinet.

The visit were focused on building trust between the two nations closely on the national front with several high ranking government officials and businessmen. The Foreign Minister and the Naujoji Amerikan President, personally signed the Treaty of Friendship between Eurussia and Naujoji Amerika which legally binded the two nations together through closer diplomatic, economic, and military cooperation.

As the CSSN welcomes four new nations (Novo Canuckia, Soviet Vermontopia, Newasia and Shirouma), the GE has lost Amerika. As of now Broatia and Schorr (The two remaining GE Members) are up against 12 CSSN nations. It seems the cold war is leaning heavily towards CSSN dominance.


Tensions are still high in NZ however, the Schorrian election could result in disaster for the NZ economy. All NZ hopes now rest in Shadow Schorr (Son of famous Shozzy Schorr).

In the middle of the analysts coined term "Cold War" in the region, which is an on-going tensions and alignments of alliances between the socialists and the capitalists, the Eurussian Government and Dromodian Government, two of the region's largest nations and economic powerhouses, jointly signed the Neutral Alliance Treaty in Moscow during the Dromodia's State Visit in Eurussia which resulted to the formation of the Neutral Alliance Treaty Organization.

During the signing ceremony, the Chancellor of Eurussia and the President of Dromoda did not made any reference to the Cold War or any tensions in the region about the establishment of the one-of-a-kind international intergovernmental organization but rather emphasized that NATO will focus on building trust among nations and preserving the interests of their peoples that will result to the long time peace of the nations involved within the NATO.

On the other hand, the visiting President of the People's Republic of Dromoda arrived in Moscow for the nation's State Visit in the Empire of Great Eurussia together with his entire Cabinet and other high ranking government officials and businessmen from Dromoda.

On the eve of the first day of the visit, Eurussian Empress Elizabeth II hosted a State Banquet in honor of the visiting President at the Kremlin Palace with the Imperial Family.

On the last day of the State Visit, the President of Dromoda held bilateral talks with Chancellor Vladimir Pootin at the White House and personally signed the new Treaty of Friendship between the two countries further strengthening their diplomatic ties.

After a long and controversial debate on abortion, the Socialist Party ruled Parliament has taken a bold step to push an abortion law without restrictions that is heavily opposed by the opposition which during their time in power, legalized abortion on very limited grounds.

The far-right government has begun to crack down on Socialist extremists who have been increasingly disruptive in the nation's bigger cities lately. However, there are several instances that the Conservatives have themselves been becoming more Liberal in the past few years. One such instance: the King, who supports the Conservative Party openly, also voiced support for gay marriage in April, when the Lower House of Parliament was voting on the resolution. The Conservative right say he only voiced support for gay marriage because of the number of openly homosexual members of the Aloian and Patrician royal families, but the Liberals have yet to accept this idea. So far, violence between the two factions has not erupted, but the future of the peace in Marquette is still to be questioned, especially with the looming Conservative powerhouse that is The Sacred Archduchy of Fuerteventura watching and criticizing everything Marquette's government does.

The Neutral Alliance Treaty Organization has announced that the NATO Council has approved the request for membership of the Government of the Commonwealth of Arcadiana to become a member of the one-of-a-kind neutralist bloc in the region.

The Green Federation of Aloia has officially announced plans to leave the World Alliance. Aloia has cited one major reason for leaving: Great Eurussia.

Eurussia's power in the World Alliance is too much. I believe it's completely undemocratic to allow Eurussia to have a permanent seat on the Security Council, complete control over the map, and to be the only person with access to the executive controls of the World Alliance page. I'm sure there are many other privileges Eurussia enjoys that I'm just not aware of, these are just the ones I know of and have a problem with right now. All these permanent special privileges are not the markings of a truly democratic region. These are more the trappings of a monarchist region where one person has all kinds of permanent power.

I also CANNOT STAND how Eurussia treats anyone he deems below him or disagrees with him. In all my dealings with Eurussia, he's had an attitude and tone that feels like he believes he's greater than everyone else (perhaps even shown in his nation's name, GREAT Eurussia) and we're all just mere mortals who need to look up to him and worship him and his great mind for creating the World Alliance. I've always picked up these implications in his messages to me and others and his reaction to my criticism of the map update finally put it all into place. I realized how superior he likes to portray himself to the rest of us.

He's shown that he believes he is above, or at least has little respect for, the Constitution of the World Alliance as can be shown in the Court of Justice subforum. As you can see, every single court case is a nation vs. Eurussia for Eurussia supposedly violating part of the Constitution. I believe that, if we are to have a monarch as Eurussia has posited himself, our monarch should be an example of the ideal law-abiding citizen, not one that openly disregards the Constitution and the rules and guideline set forth inside it.

I will miss most nations here and the fun RPs this region has had and I hope to return someday. But I will not return to the World Alliance as it is today. The World Alliance needs reforms and needs to become a true democracy where everyone is equal and no one has excessive special privileges. I believe that going to a truly democratic region will help me to get the most out of my NationStates experience. Goodbye friends and colleagues, I will miss you all.

The Eurussian Space Agency has announced that the Eurussian Empress has issued an Imperial Decree annexing the planet Saturn as Eurussia's sovereign territory. And the government will be appropriating necessary funds to finance the agency's plans to build a multi-billion project including ground based research centers and orbiting space laboratories within the planet that is expected to receive support from the private sector as well.

The space agency will have the administrative authority over the newly declared extra terrestrial territory of the Eurussian Empire. According to the government, all projects surrounding the new territory will focus on space exploration, experimentation and research for the benefit of mankind and all the peoples of the World Alliance.

Gay marriages are legal, the alert is maximum

After a long and difficult path, the law on gay marriage was approved by the European Parliament, and therefore it is now law.
Two persons of the same sex can get married now and get the same marriage rights as heterosexual couples.

The results in the Parliament

The law was approved by a very large majority in both the Chamber of Deputies both the Senate.
Remarkable result is that the law has not undergone substantive changes.
In total, the law was passed in Parliament with 750 yes, 140 no and 10 abstentions (total 900 MPs).

The reactions

The Government, in particular the president Ezio Auditore, who strongly supported this law, applaud the result.
"Now Europe is a more civilized country," he told the president in a statement.
The Party of European Socialists (now in government), the Communist Party of Europe, the Democratic Party and the Movement of Civil Action (parties that are part of the coalition government) say they are extremely pleased with what happened.
Signs of enthusiasm also coming from civil rights organizations and associations gay.
The Moderate Party of the Right and the National Party European (moderate right and the extreme right, now in opposition) announce battle against the new law, as the Church says "Astonished and disgusted by the government's attempts to destroy family values​​."
According to recent surveys, 70% of the European population is in favor of the new law legalizing gay marriage.

The Ministry can then accept or refuse the authorization (in this case the event will not happen).

Earlier today Novo Canuckia witnessed its first royal wedding in over one hundred and fifty years between Empress Hayley Sutherland and Aleksandar "Alexi" Kamenkov. Much of the historic center of the city of Príomhchathair was shut down to accommodate the large crowd which quickly gathered for the event. The wedding was held at the Dragan Djukovic Church, which is located in front of King Milos II park.


The wedding was attended by Prime Minister Michael Jefferson of New Zealand, Crown Prince Charles of Eurussia, President Deacon Veck of Schorr, Prime Minister Murphy of Vendoland, Emperor Karlov Rex of Karlovingia, Chancellor Joseph Charpantier of Marquette, as well as members of the Marquettian royal family, along with representatives from many other nations.


While the wedding ceremony itself was unremarkable -apart from the size and the prestige of many of the guests- in true Canuckian fashion, the celebration which followed most definately was. Weddings in Novo Canuckia are often large affairs, involving the entire village. This wedding followed those traditions, with much of the city still partying late into the night. The couple themselves joined the festivities for much of the day, singing and dancing along with several other guests as well as regular citizens. All non-essential services are predicted to be closed tomorrow, the city is facing a shortage of alcohol, and police are presently looking for a citizen from Swag Yolo Land who is believed to have been in possession of a large quantity of illicit substances.

The city is expected to be back to normal by the end of the week, and, following with tradition, Aleksandar Kamenkov has adopted the title of Emperor Aleksandar III. Hayley Kamenkov will continue to be listed as the official head-of-state, although both are considered equal in all matters of governance.
