A Successful General Membership Meeting

Montmartre this past week hosted the 23rd annual General Membership Meeting, at which 10,000 representatives of Local Councils from across the country gathered to replace five outgoing Rotating Council members and discuss matters of national import.

Elected to the Rotating Council were:

Lionel Francois, a steelworker and leader of the Noisy-le-Sud Council, who brings an expertise on new building technologies and will assist in planning a revitalization of New Paristan's roads and bridges.

Cosette Valjean, an IT specialist from Orange who will assist the Rotating Council in implementing new standards for internet and cloud connectivity and building the new national broadband infrastructure.

Edith Gascard, a professor and educational specialist whose focus will be on further decentralization of New Paristan's schools and creating a self-reliant network of cooperative school boards to ensure maximum flexibility in education while maintaining New Paristan's high standards.

Jean-Marc Hubert, a noted economist and specialist in foreign affairs, who will assist in New Paristan's re-emergence onto the world stage.

Amelie Mouton, a farmer and specialist in agriculture, who will assist in developing more efficient systems for delivering fresh products from farm to table.  


Also discussed:

-The issue of opening the border wall between New Paristan and Dromoda.  Dromoda's action in unilaterally building the wall was disappointing and alarming to some delegates.  Instructions were given to the Rotating Council to pursue diplomatic talks with Dromoda to resolve the wall issue.

-The economic difficulties in New Paristan's auto industry.  Representatives from the Pontmercy factory in Autreville spoke about declining sales as an unintended consequence of the development of the comprehensive national high-speed rail service (SNCF), and the difficulty in converting factories from gasoline to electric cars as mandated by the Rotating Council last year.  The Rotating Council pledged to study the matter and come up with a plan to find an appropriate balance between the auto workers and the need for a comprehensive national rail transport system.  The Pontmercy factory workers also accepted assistance from a contingent of electricians and engineers from the Autreville General Membership Council, and it is currently expected that the electrical conversion will be complete within the next year.  Meanwhile, representatives of the Pontmercy factory unveiled the Pontmercy S-C model, a brand new hybrid electric convertible and sedan that should be available later this year.



-Several hours were spent debating the reintroduction of a resolution that failed in a voice vote last year.  The resolution, drafted by a self-identified group of New Bolsheviks for a Unified Revolutionary Policy, called for the establishment of a Workers' Party, a "group of intellectuals and revolutionaries to guide and coordinate New Paristan's socialist revolution."  Said Workers' Party would replace the Rotating Council, and all local councils would be subordinate to the Party's authority.  The resolution was again defeated on a vote of 8,542 NAYS to 1,458 YEAS. A further resolution was introduced to ban the New Bolsheviks from reintroducing the resolution in future meetings.  That resolution passed with 6,544 YEAS to 3,456 NAYS.  A final resolution, to ban the New Bolsheviks outright, and prevent them speaking at any future General Membership Meetings, failed on a vote of 5,345 NAYS to 4,655 YEAS.  Pierre Laurent, leader of the Bolshevik tendency, vowed to continue fighting for what he called "a more coordinated revolution with proper scientific application of Marxist-Leninist theory."

The United States of Europe, yesterday, launched an ambitious project and, in some ways, that's great.

NEW TARAJAN GOVERNMENT ON THE WAY TO THE APPROVAL OF THE WORLD ALLIANCE CUSTOM UNION

Utopizha Bi Difindiat!

 When hearing of the Custom union act now set into action the trade workers of Ivania's busiest port other then Ivanisgrad, Lucagrad, construction and trade workeers went into outrage and protested all day. FIRST CHANCELLOR ELECTED

In the first official elections since the union of Aloia and Genolia, the Thalian people chose John Windridge of Queen Anne Island to be the first Chancellor of the Imperial Union of Aloia and Genolia. In order to defend our honor and our name, The Supreme Comrade has deployed the South Rusan fleet. It consists of Ivanian Aircraft carriers Sodruzh, Vakini, and Vavilon. Escorted by three Ivanian destroyers, Construkiktaz, Utopizhya, and Obim Dvalem. The Supreme Comrade plans on using Naval and Air warfare to help the GLA against BL forces. The Fleet will arrive within the week. On the matter of Snarfia, Ivania has mobilized the 213rd Infantry and the 52nd Mechanized. They will be transported by the Ivanisgrad Obim class transport fleet, and will arrive one day before the South Rusan fleet arrives to Georgia. It is not known yet if the South Rusan fleet will help The Snarfians as well.

ALOIAN EMPRESS EXPECTING CHILD

The House of Nordahl-Acribaldi is proud to announce that Aloia's very own Queen, HIM Marina II, is expecting her first child with King Andre. Andre is the brother of Patrician Empress Jeanne and met Marina at Jeanne's wedding to Marina's brother, Henri. The child will be 1st in line to the Aloian throne from his or her mother. The child will be first cousins with Jeanne II, heir apparent to the throne of the Holy Patrician States.

Aloia has universal primogeniture, so no matter whether the baby is male or female, they will be first in line to the throne without worrying about a male sibling taking it from them.

New "Revolutionary Tactics Institute" Opens in Montmartre



The Revolutionary Tactics Institute, an independent cooperative not directly affiliated with the Rotating Council, which should in no way be considered an official part of the Paristani government, is now open in Montmartre.  The RTI is offering 3,000 free scholarships to workers from all over the world, who will learn, during a one-year course, how to fire their bosses and "create a new world within the shell of the old."  In addition to revolutionary tactics such as sabotage, occupation, and wildcat strikes, the RTI will teach physical self-defense and martial arts.

"When Marx said we had nothing to lose but our chains, he meant that both figuratively and literally," explained Shopmaster Jean-Claude Van Merde, breaking a heavy metal link in half while showing off the RTI's extensive physical training facility and martial arts dojo.

The initial 3,000 free scholarships, which will be offered on an ongoing annual basis, are open to any worker anywhere.
