PROTESTS BREAK OUT AGAINST KYONGDONG PROGRAM

CHICAGO, Aloia == Thousands of protesters have taken to the streets to condemn the nations participating in the Kyongdong Program, a project to construct a new kind of matter bomb. While Aloians generally support scientific advancement and Aloia's powerful military, a large number of people fervently oppose the project. Protesters have gathered outside the embassies of Dromoda, Eurasia, New Zealand, Antanares, Texania, and Eurussia to try to sway the opinions of the ambassadors to convince their governments to cut their support for the project.

This puts the Aloian people at odds with the governments of many of Aloia's allies, including Aloia's very close allies, Antanares, New Zealand, and Eurussia. The Aloian government hasn't officially commented on the matter yet, but Ambassador Cristiano Garcia said the weapon "could destroy all that our great human society has worked to build." He continued to say, "Such a weapon as proposed by this project would have no benefit to our society on earth and should not be pursued." Garcia is the Aloian ambassador to Dromoda.

Prime Minister Van Sondenberg-Sorenburg announced today in a press conference the new project for the strengthening of RHIELD (Project HARDENED, acronymn of Hazard Advanced Response, Defense, ENforcement and Enemy Determination ), the powerful military/intelligence organization of New Tarajan.
The birth of a new fleet of skycarriers and a new satellite web system will be the spearheads of this project.
The Skycarriers Mark II will have a complete new cutting-edge weaponry, able to destroy any kind of threat.
And, since the announcement, analysts are increasingly discussing about the possible link between this move of the Royal Council and the Kyongdong Program, the Dromodan initiative aimed at the creation of a powerful matter-antimatter bomb, which say the participation of many countries, from Eurussia to Antanares, but also the opposition of many others, particularly of Aloia.
And of the Tarajani Prime Minister himself.
"What is the point of creating a weapon which could easily wipe out life on this planet even after the most insignificant mistake?" said Van Sondenberg-Sorenburg: "The so-called Kyongdong Program is simply unresponsible. It will provide for a weapon which could easily go out of control, and will disrupt every strategic balance in the world. We cannot avoid to ask to every country actually participating in it to stop it. But, if they will keep going on, then New Tarajan must be ready."
Prime Minister did not commented further, thus leaving uncertainty between analysts.
"The new program of RHIELD is surely a response to Kyongdong" commented Prof. Van Der Waltz, expert of Security and International Relations at the Royal Institute of Politics and Diplomacy and the Royal Institute for Strategic and International Studies, in Merlberg: "Such a program, as the Prime Minister said in his interview, will destroy every kind of strategic balance. What about any nuclear arsenal in the world? HARDENED is a sort of asymmetric response: it's not about a more big, powerful weapon, which would be foolish; it's about prevention of threats. A new kind of deterrence."

Texania has also imposed an embargo against Articmainia. This includes all Texanian oil. Many of the ships near the Regornian coast have also been restationed closer to Articmainian troop positions.

(AP)  Thousands of people gathered in "Independence Square" today in Ranji ya Magani's capital city of Myumbi to express their growing tension over "The Kyongdong Program" a multi-national weapons program supported by the allies of the Dromodian government.  Concerns arose over the nature of the program.  A spokesman for the Texian government said, " (It's) A antimatter bomb. Small amounts of antimatter has lots of power stored. I we could create a teaspoon of antimatter, we could use the power of it to not only create a bomb, but also power our cities for many generations."  Nevertheless many of Ranji ya Magani's citizens expressed outrage that the program has been undertaken in the first place. Surprisingly, few other nations have yet to weigh in on the growing international concern over the programs future. Although similar protests have occurred in the Kingdom of Aloia. The Aloian city of Chicago recently hosted huge demonstrations. Ambassador to Dromonda Cristiano Garcia had this to say,"The weapon could destroy all that our great human society has worked to build." He continued to say, "Such a weapon as proposed by this project would have no benefit to our society on earth and should not be pursued." Domestically, the tribal elders of Ranji ya Magani are considering a national referendum in order to impose sanctions on those countries supporting the project.

My concern is that through this new technology, many horrific acts of violence will be realized, and that the creation of this device ushers in a new era of unnecessary war and tension within the World Alliance. TOPEKA, Kansas == The Republic of Kansas Free State has opened its borders to the world for the first time since the collapse of its predecessor state, Greater Aurea. The people of Kansas, a largely agricultural nation with only a few metropolises, namely Kansas City, Topeka, Lawrence, and Wichita, have been working hard to build a shining, conservative utopia on the Olympian continent between Texanian and Marquetien colonies to the north and the Articmainian homeland to the south.

Governor Kathleen Sebelius said, "It's time to put Kansas on the map and show the world what we're made of. We need to put ourselves out there and make alliances and be a contributing nation to the world." Kansas is already known for its wheat and corn production, but now they hope to expand the manufacturing industry and other industries. Sebelius has suggested that Kansas hopes to ink trade deals with Articmainia, Eurussia, Texania, Marquette, and other regional and world powers.

(AP)  Jubilation in the streets of Myumbi today as voters ratified a treaty proposed by the government of Eurussia, that grants among other items: Peace between the two nations, a trade agreement, and the formation of a new "EU & Ranjiya ya Magani Council."  This action comes after mounting tensions in Ranji ya Magani over the proposed "Kyongdong device" a much opposed anti-matter weapon that has drawn vast international attention.

The government of New Tarajan, in a press conference held today at the Palace of Government, expressed all its "disappointment for the recent decision of some States to annex some of the secessionist States of the former Empire of Farshonia", as said by Prime Minister Duke Philippe August Van Sondenburg-Sorenberg.
"Although we understand that the area needs much more stability and order, such annexations only prove that the International Community cannot effectively respond to such a kind of critical situations. It is not possible to trust the goodwill behind an intervention, if at the end every intervention ends like this."
The words of the Prime Minister are a clear reference to the decision of Texania and Ireland to annex, respectively, Hannover-Oldenburg and Pomerania to their countries.
"It is a duty of everyone, of every responsible member of the International Community, to ensure that such things do not happen, as violations of International Law. We are very, very disappointed, and frustrated seeing that an intervention we promoted, together with others, has become another occasion for indiscriminate annexations."
Rumors from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs confirm that the Tarajani diplomacy is deeply saddened by these recent developments. A declaration released by a Ministry official states that "probably New Tarajan will act differently toward future interventions of international corps and organization", seemingly announcing a more critical attitude toward future missions not orchestrated by single alliances.



Meanwhile, from the Pasargade, the HQ of the RHIELD, the powerful military/intelligente organization of the New Tarajan, a spokesperson confirmed that "our special teams deployed in Regornia killed two key figures of the communist terrorists: they are Cha Nuerra and Cole Speer."

Former Farshonian States Granted Commonwealth Membership

Today after debate by the Planitan Executive Council, the Planitan Commonwealth has granted the former Farshonian state, the Republic of Hessen full membership. This decision came after Hessen applied for membership a couple months ago. Its transition to a Commonwealth state will take several months as the new member must adopt some regulation as it applies for the Torch Area and the Planitan Economic Area. “It is great,” a Hessian citizen says, “joining the Planitan Commonwealth will help our nation immensely.” With the admission of the Republic of Hessen, the Planitan Commonwealth has pledged 1 billion Planitan Notes to help rebuild and improve the nation to Commonwealth standards.

Planitan Space Program UPSA Launches Launches First Spacecraft

Today the first rocket by the Planitan space agency, UPSA launched its first space vehicle into mid earth orbit today. The launch came after long hard work by the new space agency. “It is exciting,” says a rocket engineer, “know the Planitan states can reach for the stars”. The official plans include a satellite network and an eventual space station. However dark rumors persist about the space agency, as it is rumored that the space agency can be a cover for a weapons program.

Today the Department of Industry announced the founding of the state owned enterprise Diamond Resorts. The announcements came after it was speculated that a hotel chain needed to be created to accommodate the influx of tourists that came to the Number One “World's favorite nation to sight-see.” Already 5 resorts are being planned in Liberia, Monterrey, Planitia, and North Cape. The hotels will be 5 star resorts near the ocean next to already popular tourist beaches. Dozens of smaller hotels are being planned near the large forests of Planita as well.

The Royal Family will be followed by many representatives of the Tarajani aristocracy, including the Lord President of the Landsraad (father of the Queen and older brother of the Prime Minister), Prince Maximilian Van Sondenburg-Sorenberg.

For the first time during its history, the territory of Meisjegronden sent representatives to the Landsraad, in Astana. Five members of the aristocracy, lead by Count Jan Dominique Van Heeckeren, arrived today morning in the capital to take their seats inside the most important legislative and judicial body of the Kingdom.
"This is a great moment for Meisjegronden" commented Count Van Heeckeren: "We are the first members of the aristocracy to take a place in the Landsraad in representation of the colonies. And we will not be the lasts."
But let us look a little behind us, to the roots (and the importance) of this event.
Meisjegronden (literally, the Land of the Maiden, in Tarajan Dutch), was the first colony the ancient Kingdom of Tarajan acquired, as first step toward the formation of its colonial empire. The eastern part of the territory was colonized by a Tarajani expedition in 1720 J.E. (with the foundation of the capital city of Groenestadt, the Green City), while the western part was acquired from the East Company of the Antanaresian Republic twenty years later.
The Tarajani aristocracy became interested in the colony only one century after, and when the Royal Family escaped from the Communist Revolution, first to Casavarr, then to Groenestadt, it was still an underdeveloped area. Only with the reign of Conrad III and Conrad IV the colony saw the birth of a true economy, but it never obtained political recognition.
Now, King Friederick Wilhelm, with a Royal Decree, decided to grant it to the most ancient colony of Tarajan. The Decree, supported also by Marquis Uriel Van De Groot, Royal Viceroy for Colonies, began a reform that, sooner or later, will transform the political system of New Tarajan: now Meisjegronden has been allowed to have a Diet, and to send representatives to the Landsraad (as for the Kingdom, also colonies are divided into noble fiefdoms).
