Tariffs on Imported Items to be Raised

In a speech to the House of Commons, Prime Minister Theodore Garrett announced a plan to raise tariffs on all imported goods.

"I don't like to see these as economic sanctions. Our purpose here is not to try and damage other nations economies. We are just trying to get Irish people to buy more Irish goods. So we can help the Irish economy. Which is in a disastrous state right now. This isn't our most favorite path but we believe it will lower unemployment, lower the deficit, raise the economy, and make the Irish people rich again. I know we can achieve anything we set our minds to. My job as Prime Minister is to open the gates to prosperity. Of course when we see the Irish economy on a steady path to growth we will remove the tariffs. Thank you"

The Leader of the Opposition was quick to strike back at the Prime Minister "I respect the Prime Minister. But I have concerns over his most recent actions. Legal concerns that is. I respect that the Prime Minister is trying to fix the economy. But it seems adding tariffs to the mix violates many Free Trade agreements we have around the world. We need to fix our alliances. Not destroy them."

This quickly turned into a debate within the House of Commons "If I remember correctly we were elected to the Irish Parliament. Not the Eurussian Parliament. I believe even the Leader of the opposition can agree to that. While I respect our allies and want to mend relations with them we MUST put Ireland first. We can either raise tariffs by a tiny bit or pour billions upon billions into industry. But there are many problems with that. One we are already billions in debt so we can pull billions out of no where and expect return. I highly guarantee you that wouldn't work. It would probably damage the economy more than fix it. Point 2 is people don't want the Government reaching it's hands into the market. That never turns out to be good."

The deal was approved nearly along party lines. 350-300 was the final tally.

The Prime Minister in an address to the nation said "We fix our domestic problems then we fix our foreign problems."

EU GREET PRESIDENT OF ELDSLANDET

With pomp and pageantry, the President and the First Lady of the state of Eldslandet arrived in Moscow for their State Visit to Eurussia aimed to establish formal diplomatic ties between the two nations. His Excellency, Vice Chancellor Dmitry Medvedev personally greeted the visiting leader upon his arrival and accompanied him to the Imperial Kremlin Palace where Her Imperial Majesty, Empress Elizabeth formally welcomed the First Lady and President of Eldslandet to the Eurussian Empire and met with the members of the Eurussian Imperial Family. The two state leaders had a private luncheon prior to the succeeding engagements of the visiting leader in Eurussia. Afterwards, the President of Edslandet met at the White House with His Excellency, Chancellor Vladimir Putin to discuss various state matters and wide ranging issues concerning the two countries. They also held expanded meeting together with their respective ministers which was followed by the official signining of the two nations' Treaty of Friendship sealing their diplomatic and economic relations for the years to come.

On the following day, the President of Eldslandet went to downtown Moscow to inaugurate their country's embassy in Eurussia signifying the friendship of the two nations. This was followed by the courtesy call of the President to the headquarters of the Security Council and meet with the high level diplomatic envoys of the member countries of the powerful international body. Despite the escalating tensions between Eurussia and the Islamic States, a confirmation has been officially made that there is an existing back door negotiations between the two nations aimed to resolve the growing hostilities of the two countries which are both member states of the powerful Security Council. Following the breakdown of the back door negotiations between Eurussia and the Islamic States on the issue of nuclear facilities in Syria which as a matter of fact is already the second round of negotiations on the matter but both failed due to backtracking of the Islamic States every time a compromised deal has been finalized, the Ministry of Defense announced that all troops deployed and units currently in mission to surround the territories of the Islamic States has been ordered to prepare for a sustained military campaign against the Islamic States to eliminate the threats against the national security of the Eurussian Empire. PM Blair appeals to the WA to stop EU

On his first foreign policy speech, Prime Minister Alexander Blair outlined his government's priorities in engaging with other countries and allies. He focused on bringing closer alliance with allies and becoming more aggressive to those enemies of the state. PM Blair clarified that being aggressive does not mean about waging war but being aggressive to earn the respect and fear of the enemy. He also pointed out to the WA on allowing the crisis of EU and ISIS to worsen leaving Great Eurussia the ultimate winner of the situation because we allow him to become that. He also criticize the inefficient Security Council for being a watcher instead of becoming a doer in world crisis calling for reforms. A criticism he made because of the WASC pressured by EU to make it win the case filed by Scottlands. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that the Eurussian Ambassador to Eurussia has been arrested on charges of murder and corruption. The Foreign Minister released the following statement "We must realize that no official foreign or domestic is above the law. Anyone suspected of breaking the law will be arrested. We followed all legal procedures in arresting an ambassador. We obtained a warrant from the High Court on International Criminal Justice and had it signed by the Monarch. We would like to remind the citizens of the Kingdom of Ireland and of the world that the Ambassador is not an irish Citizen so he is not promised a trial by jury nor any other rights guranteed to him. Just the rights given to him by the International Prisoners Act of 2015. This order comes directly from the Monarch. The Ambassador now sits in Dublin City Jail awaiting trial."

Buckingham Palace, the residence of the Monarch released a statement addressing recent concerns. "To the People of the Kingdom of Ireland, my loyal citizens. Recently I asked the Attorney General to go to the the High Court on International Criminal Justice. i had a reason for doing this, I had recent evidence submitted to me by an unnamed source that makes it seems as if the Honorable Ambassador from Eurussia has been involved with the murder of two embassy employees, he has been suspected of corruption, and has been suspected of conspiracy to bring down many government employees. This evidence is most disturbing and as monarch I had to act. He will await trial. If he is found guilty he will be executed on Irish soil. God be with us."

EU INKS TREATY WITH CORINTHOS

With being the only, if not one of the few, high level foreign dignitary to grace the activities of the Antique Olympic Games in Corinthos, His Imperial Highness, Crown Prince William, aside from showing support publicly for Eurussian athletes, met with members of the Corinthos Government on the sidelines of his trip to the country. The Crown Prince held bilateral talks with Apollonias of Corinth, the Gerusia Member of Foreign Relations and with the head of state, Periandros Cypselid, the First Archon to discuss matters of state and wide ranging international issues. Both leaders also witnessed the official signing of the two nations' Friendship Treaty sealing their diplomatic and economic relations. They are also slated to inaugurate the future Eurussian Embassy in Accorinth before the official departure of the Crown Prince from the country. Although unconfirmed, there are reports saying that the two leaders have discussed the initiative of the Corinthos Government before the Security Council pushing for an international law on diplomatic immunity. However, it is unclear whether Corinthos obtained the support of Eurussia.

EU RINGS ALARM ON ISIS WEALTH

With the crippling and damaging sanctions towards the Islamic States starting to take effect, pressure is mounting further with the Islamic States Government as suspicions are growing on its intentions for a nuclear energy program. This comes as the Energy Minister Alexander Novak said in a press conference that since the Islamic States only provides limited information on its energy industry, the Togana Government, the reportedly unofficial mediator between Eurussia and the Islamic States, provided data to the Eurussian Government showing the abundance of oil and coal in the Islamic States. Thus, the Energy Minister stirred up discussions as it emphasized that if there is an abundance of oil and coal in the Islamic States and it gets revenue from their exports, why would the Islamic States insist on a very expensive nuclear energy program where it will still need to import uranium and not utilize further the oil and coal resources of the country which can power oil and coal power plants. Analysts say that with the latest pronouncements from the Energy Minister, suspicions towards Islamic States will rise as it could continue to be accused of pursuing instead a nuclear weapons program.

EU CONDEMNS IRISH KINGDOM

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned Ireland for the illegal arrest and illegal detention of the Eurussian Ambassador to Ireland in Dublin on charges of murder and corruption. The ministry said that no consultations were made by the Irish Government nor evidences were shown with the Eurussian Government and not even notification was made. The arrest reportedly occured when the EU Ambassador was resting at the gazebo inside the grounds of the Eurussian Embassy in downtown Dublin where arresting officers presented documents showing the insignia of the King of Ireland. The Foreign Ministry said that they have demanded explanation from the Irish Government and called for the immediate release of the Eurussian Ambassador.

EU BARS IRISH AMBASSADOR

As the tense diplomatic row between Moscow and Dublin unfolds, the Eurussian Immigration Authority confirmed that the Irish Ambassador to Eurussia, based in Moscow, has been barred from leaving the country pending a local level investigation as three teenagers filed charges against the diplomat for sexual assault and drug use. The Eurussian Immigration Authority said that no arrest will be made against the Irish diplomat since Eurussia highly respects the diplomatic immunity of the Irish Ambassador which will only be void if a Eurussian court finds the envoy guilty of sexual assault and drug use. There also reports that there is an unusual high presence of police outside the Irish Embassy in Moscow which according to the local police is just a precautionary security measure.

The Republic of Corinthos has launched PROJECT DEMETER. The Project, which was named after the goddess of agriculture and the giver of food, aims to provide the basic needs to the people in need, on an international level. Currently, PROJECT DEMETER has two branches; the Anglo-Welsh, and the Abusian.

Overall 4 cargo ships, two to ISIS and two to England-Wales, have been disembarked, fully loaded with food, clothes, etc.. The Abusian PROJECT DEMETER is working in cooperation with the Islamic Government, while the Anglo-Welsh PROJECT DEMETER will cooperate the government in England-Wales, if the respective authorities accept. If they choose to refuse the humanitarian aid, the supplies will be sent to ISIS instead.

Apollonias of Corinth, Gerusia Member for Foreign Relations of the Republic of Corinthos has announced that these actions are politically neutral, the Republic only wishes to show support towards people in suffering.

Peace has won over War

Treaty:

ISIS and the EU have signed the Augusta Treaty of Peace in Augusta today. The delegates from ISIS, EU, Togana, and other WASC nations signed the deal today in the capitol city. After weeks of political tensions and the brink of war over ISIS nuclear ambitions, ISIS has decided to give up all forms of nuclear research. In return for giving up on its nuclear ambitions, the sanctions put on ISIS will lift. Also in the deal ISIS will get power from Eurussia free of tariffs to make up for what will be lost by scrapping the nuclear power facility.
Togana has worked behind the scenes through the conflict to keep both nations satisfied and from fighting.

President Hammond stated today:
"With the signing of this deal both ISIS and Eurussia can move forward and any issues left...While this deal might leave some to be desired some say, it has allowed peace to win over war once again."

Scouting Withdraws Troops

With the peace treaty signed by Eurussia and ISIS, Scouting has withdrawn the 2nd fleet and the 1,000,000 troops deployed covering the entirety of the ISIS border. When State Department officials were asked about the Scouting Government's stance on the peace treaty, the Secretary of State replied:

This peace treaty is a victory for all of the nations in the World Alliance. This prevents ISIS from becoming a nuclear nation and with their mannerisms in global politics, it's a damn good thing that we were able to prevent a potential threat from developing. We plan to continue to monitor the situation in ISIS, especially with its country bordering WEPA's new found territory.

EU INKS PEACE PACT WITH ISLAMIC STATES

After the announcement from Togana, His Excellency, Chancellor Vladimir Putin, announced and finally confirmed from the Eurussian side, the conclusion of the back door negotiations with the Islamic States Government through the Government of Togana leading to the signing of the Augusta Treaty of Peace between the two nations in the capital city of Togana. Thus, ending months, if not, years of deadlock between the two nations that have been at odds for so long and have almost fell into a brink of total war, thanks to the insistence of the Islamic States to build a nuclear power plant on its Syria territory which was greatly opposed by the Eurussian Government making the international community totally worried on the worsening situation to their breakdown of relations. Nevertheless, a compromise has been reached where the Islamic States gave up its plans for a nuclear power facility in Syria to the extent of committing to become a nuclear free sovereign state in exchange of Eurussian supply of cheaper electricity via the Syria-neighboring Duchy of Trinity.

EU TO NORMALIZE TIES WITH ISIS

With another diplomatic victory to be added to his administration's accomplishments, the Eurussian Chancellor Vladimir Putin vowed to normalize relations with the Islamic States for the benefit of its people and hinted on the possibility of meeting the Emir of the Islamic States to discuss possible further cooperation on the bilateral level. He also confirmed that all forces that were previously deployed near the Islamic States will be withdrawn gradually and the damaging financial sanctions will be lifted at the soonest appropriate time. Chancellor Putin even commended Emir Abu Lakiptani of the Islamic States for standing up for peace and welcoming the values of peace on his country as the Augusta Treaty of Peace brought the Islamic States into compliance with the international law prohibiting the development of any form of nuclear weapons. The Eurussian leader also made a vale warning against any nation that will attempt to threaten and disrupt the peace is being enjoyed by the international community allowing many nations to flourish that Eurussia will not sit idly when international law is challenged and world peace is endangered.

EU COURT ORDERS IRISH ENVOY ARREST

Avoiding to ignite further diplomatic row with the new Irish Government, Chancellor Putin did not made any comment on the recent order of a Eurussian court asking for the law enforcement agencies of the country to arrest the Irish Ambassador to Eurussia after finding probable cause on the cases filed by three unidentified teenagers on grounds of sexual assault and drug use. As of the moment, no statement has been made the Irish Government on the cases against its top diplomat in the country and the Irish Ambassador remains holed up at the Irish Embassy in Moscow. Previously, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release upholding Eurussia's respect of the diplomatic immunity and extraterritoriality of the Irish diplomatic mission in the country but with the recent arrest warrant, it remains to be seen of the Eurussian Government is keen on implementing the arrest order or the Irish Envoy will peacefully step out of embassy grounds and surrender to Eurussian authorities to properly defend himself in Eurussian court.

Prime Minister commends ISIS and EU

Speaking before the Scottish Parliament, PM Blair praised ISIS and EU and Togana for signing a peace agreement that prevents war that will kill people for no reason. But he also deplored the agreement as being unfair for ISIS but still glad because ISIS accepted it anyway. PM Blair will also watch closely to make sure EU will supply ISIS with proper amount of electricity. He hoped that many nations will not go threatening each other and just talk and negotiate and go away with militarism and war like attitude.
